I think it's totally worth it. It's a great step. It weighs over 15 pounds while other plastic steps that weigh only 5-7 pounds; therefore it's very stable on both wood and carpet, no slippage at all. The surface is rubber and it's very steady as well. The feature to raise the steps to achieve three different heights one of the main reasons why I purchased this although I have not used it yet, but looking forward to get to that point.I use it to do simple step exercise (step, kick, hop) + upper body work out using lightweights. I put it in front of the TV and watch some of my favorite shows (comedy, talk shows, HGTV, Food, Travel, sports, etc...). It's a path to least resistance and has helped me to get some exercise in almost everyday. When not in used, it can be stored under the bed or sofa or rest against a wall and does not take up much space.
