If you don't know, harpin protein comes from a pathogen and plants can sense this specific protein. It causes plants to believe they are under attack. The result is a huge push by the plant to ramp up metabolism. The result is vigorous growth, and increase disease resistance since no disease is actually present. It works! Review: Insuffient instructions to use properly - Axiom is the new formulation of Messenger, a product that I have used for many years. Messenger has been a great product for enhancing the growth of my dahlias. I grow around 250 to 270 dahlias per year for exhibition. Axiom is half the concentration of Messenger and considerably more expensive. I figured that I would purchase a larger size to save, because when I spray, I use approximately 12 gallons of spray (4 gallon sprayer 3 times). There are no instructions on the package of how much to use for less than 50 gallons of solution. I contacted the seller, who referred me to the manufacturer -- no response. The manufacturer says that the product must be used within 3 weeks of opening. This information was not on the Internet or package advertising. Until I get this information, I do not know how much product to use in my sprayer.
