I read a review which said water leaked from the trays but I figured by sitting it in a container it would be fine. I didn't need the container it did not leak at all. I can only think that the reviewer did not bother to empty the bottom tray when topping up the water. but if you empty the bottom reservoir tray or reuse the water, there are no leaks at all. If I had to criticize, it would be when using tiny seed like broccoli the trays take a little effort to clean. but the results are worth the effort Review: Nice but small - They are nice quality and stack inside each other for easy storage. (although that means you can't rotate the trays as suggested in the directions) I had NO issues with leaking when properly stacked The small width/depth size was good and ideal for sprouting. However for microgreens you need more height it was all very squished and I ended up separating the trays out to get the desired height.
