Review: NOT a fan of the new, smaller size. Deserving of 2.5 stars. - I’ve been using Asgard Press’ calendars since 2011. Maybe that makes me a little late to the game but in that short period of time I had gotten used to gawking at the amazing illustrations afforded by the (formerly impressive) 11x14 inch size. For 2018, Asgard Press has reduced the size of the calendar to 9 x 12 inches and in this customer’s humble opinion that resulted in an inferior product. The awesome artwork is still a sight to behold but the shrimpy size is going to take more than a little of the fun out of the time I’ll spend in casual and studious admiration of the art… which is the main reason I purchase these calendars over other publishers offerings. The Vintage Sci-Fi and Vintage Batman calendars are a mixed bag. The images are great but the runty dimensions have me bummed. The calendars are what I want (subject matter)… but they’re not what I want (size). Even the paper stock seems thinner. All of these changes place my level of satisfaction smack-dab in the middle. So, a potential five-star rating will drop to 2.5 stars. As calendars go they’re ok (hey, at least Asgard didn’t reduce the number of months to go along with the reduction in size) but they’re not what they used to be. I simply can’t see my way to rounding up to a three-star rating. It’s more than these calendars deserve. A two-star rating is what I’ll submit as desertcart’s rating system won’t let me log in a half star. I don’t know why the publisher had to muck with the size. The smaller scale brings nothing to the table by way of product improvement. I sure as heck don’t care for it. Unfortunately it looks like I’ll have to start shopping for a new line of calendars to use in 2019. Drat.

over all very disappointing surprise this year
why did they reduce the size? and they used a lot of the same covers from previous years. I have been loving these calendars since 2011. I would be willing to pay more to get the larger size with the better quality of past years. over all very disappointing surprise this year.

Still a great calendar but.....
I have been buying this calendar for years now. The artwork this year is still fantastic but they reduced the size of the calendar (dimensions) which was a bit disappointing.

Reduced image size is unacceptable
These calendars used to be great. Suitable for framing. The reduction in size may not sound huge when you read the dimensions, but if you do the math, that is a 26% reduction in the image size. Too small to frame as effective posters. I won't be buying any more at this size.

Absolutely love it - highly recommend
I bought this for my dad and he absolutely loved it! Paper is great quality; even a thin sharpie won't bleed through. Plus, all of the posters are frame-ready prints. Highly recommend

I'm at 3 1/2 stars for this one
I've been buying this Calendar since 2012, and love the vintage sci-fi pics also. The page size really is too small to do justice to the pictures. They shrunk it down 2" by 2" and used thinner paper stock this year. I'd be willing to pay a little more to keep it the same. There are so many pics they can still use that they haven't, some that are far better than the one's they chose each year. I find myself liking about 8 of 12 on a yearly basis, but the calendar is still cooler than most of the others you have to choose from in this genre.
