We purchased a Vornado free standing fan many decades ago, and it is easily the best fan we have ever owned.. So when I saw this Vornado fan that just fits inside our window opening, I order it without hesitation.There is some required assembly to attach the handles. It took some effort to snap the handles into place, but once installed the entire assembly is very solid -- you would never know the fan wasn't fully assembled at the factory.The slow speed is very very quiet yet moves a significant amount of air, perfect for overnight use in a bedroom. Medium speed can easily be heard but is not what I would call loud. The high speed is really powerful and can freshen a room with outdoor air quickly. While the sound level on high is significant, it is still a pleasant white noise.How I assign stars in a review.The star ratings are always in relation to the item's intended purpose, type, and durability.5 stars - The item is perfect with no room for meaningful improvement. The item performs its intended function consistently, and without fail. Two screws and the little plastic pieces that are for wrapping the cord around when not in use. There is a 'Part Replacement' sheet and an instruction manual included. The parts sheet has an email address and a phone number to call. I will do so and update this review to reflect my experience with Vornado's customer service department.As far as the fan itself goes, it moves a lot of air; it claims it can move just under 1,300 cu. ft./min. I have no way to measure it, but it is deceptive in its quiet operation, as it uses a blower-style fan rather than a normal bladed fan. I am very pleased with the fan. It may be set vertically or horizontally to move air in just about any direction. It is extremely quiet considering the airflow it creates.I am currently using it to blow air-conditioned air some 25ft down a relatively narrow hallway to a small room at the end. It works fantastically. It seems to be built sturdily and should last a long time. I will update this review when I am done contacting their parts/customer service department for the missing parts.
