I recently decided to try out a few new picks and started with the jazz 3 variants (petrucci ones, the red extra grip ones, black extra grip ones, kirk hammett models) and decided I liked the black extra grip ones the best, they seemed to wear down less than the red ones. I did like the size of the john petrucci variant, however grip was a problem and the picks always slid out of my hand. One day, this was recommended to me on amazon and I decided if nothing else, I'll buy it just to have a cool dream theater pick to throw out on stage while playing my EBMM majesty. I really enjoy this pick. It does not wear down as fast as jazz 3 picks do. Playing is fast and crisp. My tone actually sounds cleaner when using piezo with this pick indicating a better attack time.
