I picked up this ORICO USB hub because I was tired of reaching around the back of my PC every time I needed to plug in a flash drive or my external SSD. The clamp design is brilliant – it mounted securely to the edge of my desk in seconds, and it looks clean and professional. The build quality is solid too – metal, not cheap plastic, which was a nice surprise at this price point. The USB ports work great for data transfer. I’ve used all three USB-A ports and the USB-C port with no issues moving files from external drives and connecting peripherals like my webcam and mouse dongle. Speeds seem solid and consistent. My only real gripe is that it doesn’t really charge devices effectively. I tried plugging in my phone and wireless earbuds, and they either charged very slowly or not at all unless I added a separate power source. It’s fine for accessories, but if you’re hoping to use this as a charging station too, you’ll be disappointed unless you provide extra power. That said, for decluttering your desk and making your USB ports more accessible, this is a great little device. Just know what you’re getting – it’s a USB hub for data, not a charging dock.

Very nice hub. You can install it pretty much anywhere and it works great.

I bought this specifically for two features: the desk clamp and the SD/TF card reader. Both work well, but the clamp has a limitation worth knowing about. THE CLAMP The clamping area is only about 1/2 inch deep. My desk has a rounded edge, so I lose about half of that to the curve. As a result, if I'm not careful when plugging something in, the hub can come loose. If your desk has a flat, square edge, you'll probably be fine. If it's rounded, be aware you might have the same issue. THE CARD READER Works great. One quirk: the micro SD slot requires the card to be inserted upside down. Not a big deal once you know, but it's unintuitive. BOTTOM LINE I really like this hub and I'm not sorry I bought it. Just consider what you're clamping it to ahead of time.

If you look at my other reviews you'll probably find a decent number of orico products in there and there's a reason for that I love them they're one of my favorite Brands I like to buy them a lot I bought many many things from Oracle USB ports hard drive enclosures SSD enclosures you name it if Orca has it I probably bought at least some version of it and this did not disappoint I'm still using it to this very day I bought it probably about 6 months ago the ports have stood up to daily repeated use 6 months on the one thing I would recommend is if you're going to put it under a desk and you only got about three or four inches of clearance get a right angle usb-c adapter it the cord is rather stiff and I had to bend it and I was feeling a little odd about bending it to the degree I did but you can't go wrong with work or products I love them and I understand that because I'm referencing the name brand over and over it probably sounds like a bot but no I just really love their products are really freaking good not much else to say I bought the one that had I think two USB C ports and then three USDA the ports of stood up very well I don't know about advertised speeds cuz I don't really pay attention to that normally if I'm transferring files I queue it up and just walk away I'm not in a big hurry most of the time I know the USBC Port is noticeably faster than the USB a ports and I have done power pass through so it's not bad I don't know if I trust it connecting like many expensive hard drives and if you do plug in three USB ports whether USB C or USB a and you need to power the devices you're plugging in you will need to use power pass through otherwise they won't function correctly and they may drop out on you but for low profile adapters like a wireless mouse adapter and then like one hard drive and maybe a USB C fan or USB a fan it'll be fine the mounting is a little bit fiddly when you have it mounted so the screw is facing up towards the ceiling I swear I think it screws in Reverse as opposed to clockwise but that could just be me and me not knowing directions

Excellent plus the power port is a great function. The mount is simple but very sturdy.

I tried using this as a way to plug in my wireless mouse and keyboard, but the mouse and keyboard both noticeably lag during use. The mouse is constantly disconnecting, while the keyboard will just slow down input as I'm typing, then speed up as it "catches up" with what I've typed. It's like the hub can't handle processing the polling rates of both devices. I have tried it with the additional 5v power plug and without. Mouse: Razer Basilisk V3 Pro (1000hz polling) Keyboard: Asus Azoth (1000hz polling) If it actually worked, I would love the form factor and size.

Edit: So I had bought two of these, and now one of them just stopped working randomly. It seems like energy is being transferred because chargers and such are working, however, usb drives aren't being recognized when they are plugged into the not-working hub. I have tried plugging in other things into the port the usb hub was being plugged in, but seeing they work, the hub seems to be the issue. Original: I've bought 2 other powered usb hubs, and both started causing disconnection issues. After finding info on dc (korean version of reddit), a lot of people seemed to trust the brand for powered usb hubs. Gave it a go and has been working great so far, at least better than the first hub I bought. Time will tell if it will last more than the second hub.

Really need this so I wasn't reaching under my desk to connect things, and I can connect all ports, and it works fine, really useful, have it right under my monitor, very compact

Llevaba tiempo buscando un hub USB que pudiera quedar instalado de forma permanente en el escritorio y, después de utilizar este modelo de ORICO, puedo decir que ha cumplido perfectamente con lo que esperaba. ✔ Lo mejor • Sistema de fijación muy bien diseñado. La pinza permite sujetarlo firmemente tanto al borde de la mesa como al perfil del monitor (siempre que se encuentre dentro del rango de espesores indicado por el fabricante). Una vez instalado no se mueve al conectar o desconectar dispositivos. • Materiales de gran calidad. El cuerpo de aluminio transmite muy buenas sensaciones y está claramente por encima de los típicos hubs de plástico. Además, las zonas de contacto incorporan almohadillas de silicona que evitan arañazos tanto en el monitor como en el escritorio. • Instalación inmediata. Es totalmente Plug & Play. Basta con conectarlo y en pocos segundos todos los puertos están disponibles, sin instalar controladores ni realizar ninguna configuración. • Puertos muy accesibles. Es probablemente la característica que más valoro.
