Review: I thought I knew what self-compassion was... - I would call this book life-changing, if you need self-compassion. This is my first time reading Kristin Neff. I thought I knew what self-compassion was until I started reading this book. It is set up for people who are burnt out to be able to get started without taking a lot of time. I have found it to be very helpful. There are 22 short chapters, each with a supporting exercise. I have learned a lot. It blends well with IFS theory / therapy, and I think it will help me access Self energy.

I would call this book life-changing, if you need self-compassion. This is my first time reading Kristin Neff. I thought I knew what self-compassion was until I started reading this book. It is set up for people who are burnt out to be able to get started without taking a lot of time. I have found it to be very helpful. There are 22 short chapters, each with a supporting exercise. I have learned a lot. It blends well with IFS theory / therapy, and I think it will help me access Self energy.

A book that makes you feel truly understood—explaining the science behind burnout in relatable language and sharing practical tools to recover by addressing root causes you might not see or want to face (self-compassion, what?!). Reading one, then two chapters a day (I couldn’t take more at once), it became an invaluable companion on my path to recovery. A big thanks to the authors for their lifelong work and passion!
