However, anyone thinking of purchasing this as a heating/cooling controller for a marine aquarium please be careful. Elitech promote this new unit as an Upgraded STC-1000 model. True in a way. However, you can only programme this version to have a -0.5 degree or +0.5 temperature differential before either heating or cooling kicks in. The STC-1000 allows for -0.3 / +0.3. Therefore you will not get the same stability in aquarium temperature with this unit. Now I have purchased the ATC-1550 I have installed it. However, I'll be keeping my eye on temperature stability and may have to revert back to an STC-1000. It's a shame as this is a better unit and comes boxed in with both heating and cooling UK plugs. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Do. Not.
