This is the newer version of the Disto. I use it everyday for work and initially was hesitant fearing it may not stay charged long enough to get me through my appointments everyday, but it hasn't failed me yet. The video display is clear and can be seen in the sunlight. Can't imagine being a Real Estate Appraiser without this tool It's so precise and easy to use - definitely beats a measuring wheel or tape measure ! Tried other brands and sent them back - this is the one to buy!!

I use the Leica DISTO D5 daily to measure homes for pest control and it has completely streamlined my workflow. Super easy to use right out of the box, and the Bluetooth connectivity pairs instantly with the app on my iPhone and iPad no more scribbling down measurements The accuracy is spot on every time, and I love that I can send measurements directly to my phone and move on to the next job. If you’re in the field and need a reliable, fast, and accurate laser measure, this is the one to get. Highly recommend!

Needed this for measuring windows, probably better suited for other applications. App was not very intuitive, way more features than I would ever need or use. I may consider much less expensive devices with fewer features.

Im a crane operator, I spent 3 years of my long career as a surveyor out of an engineering office, I bought this so I can target points on the construction site and determine my radius for setting construction materials with this 800 ton crane at distances over 300 feet. My accuracy doesn't have to be as stringent as with most builders but it is still dead on compared to a tape measure. Being able to use the D5 during the day with bright sunshine is a godsend, also, when I cant see the point directly horizontal and being able to hit the top of a 60 foot column and still getting an accurate horizontal measurement is very satisfying. Some of the functionality of the would be lost on me if I hadn't learned to use the Leica MS60 and GS18, this little guy is packed with tools, my only regret is i didn't explore enough to upgrade to one that had the point to point measurement tool.

its great, all the specs are accurate and true. only complaint I have with the D5 is it is not compatible with P2P measurements. you have to move up to the X6 I believe.

Great product!! I’ve had this for around six months now use it every week. The camera view and zoom are perfect. I had an old-school one prior to this with a site. But I can’t find that kind anymore so I went out on a limb and purchased this one with the camera view instead of a site. Very easy to get used to actually like it better than the site. I Would definitely purchase again highly recommend.

Superb advance on a standard basic Disto. Worth every penny of a much higher cost. It has a standard camera thread provision for attaching to a tripod or clamp and I find a tripod is essential to realise the full measured survey scope and accuracy of this instrument .
