Make sure to let the binding machine get to the proper temperature before attempting a binding, otherwise the glue won't melt well and the pages won't stick to the binding. You simply put your pages into the binding and insert into the machine. It melts the glue in the binding cover into the edge of all of the pages and binds it just like a professional book. I find it works best if you really tap the pages into the binding several times before inserting it, then tapping again a few times as soon as you remove it. This gives one last shot at inserting the pages when the glue is still warm/wet and makes sure they all set properly before the glue sets.
