The students know how vegetables grow in soil, but none were familiar with hydroponics. I purchased two, and currently have one growing lettuce. The students help me with the air flow system. The directions are easy to follow and everything you need to start growing hydroponic lettuce is included. In other words, they fall through the holder so we had to improvise by adding masking tape fingers on three sides of each hole to hold the net pots securely during the experiment. I purchased this for my middle school aged child as a science project. The kit looked attractive upon receipt and included items that seemed to be of quality. Our expectations were high for success. The lettuce sprouts came up fairly quickly, initially. However, they have stopped growing at about 2" height and appear to be dying now. We have followed all instructions and can't seem to get them to grow further.
