Works great for itchy scalp. Recomended by my dermotologist. It has a strong smell, but the odor doesn't stay on the hair.

This shampoo is equivalent to Nutragena T-gel shampoo. I have scalp and ear psoriasis and this shampoo keeps it controlled. I find the Amazon brand just as effective as T-gel with a better price. This is a Coal tar shampoo and does have an odor it. I use a pleasantly scented conditioner and I don’t notice the tar aroma on my hair. If you have scalp issues like psoriasis or eczema I highly recommend this shampoo.

Very strong smell due to 1%

This Amazon product replaces my long-time therapeutic, anti-dandruff/seborrheic/&psoriasis Denorex Mentar 1.8% Coal tar shampoo, which I can no longer find for sale locally or online. It is only 1% tar so I use a bit more of it per shampoo, but other brands @ CVS or Walmart are 2-4 times more expensive. Only a very-slight lingering smell prevents it from a 5 star rating.

I always use this when I have a breakout - I have life long scalp psoriasis and when I get breakouts - this takes it away in about 2 to 3 washes.

I’m a review reader. I seen so many people talking about the odor and was concerned. It is in no way that they describe unless they got a product I didn’t. While it’s sitting on your head while you’re in the shower then I can agree that it’s very noticeable. Then you rinse it out. No problem after that. Odor is gone. My dermatologist told me to use this 2-3 times a week.I’ve only used it twice now and am writing the review to calm anyone’s nerves about this stench that was too often mentioned. Nothing to it really. It will smell like the active ingredient but I feel they’ve done a great job of making it where the odor vanishes after use. I’ve only used it twice and am noticing positive effects. Had been using other prescription shampoo but this is already looking like it’ll be the winner. Best of luck to you all. I had brain surgery leaving me pretty scarred up and skin irritated years later. I’m excited this project exists at the price point it costs. Good luck all finding what works for you. This might well be the answer.

First of all thank u Amazon! I had crazy nasty flakes and redness. And I’ve tried so many other things. It got rid of all my flakes and redness. No lie it’s the best thing ever. But if you need to go out on date or anything like that I wouldn’t use. It smells like a ford f150 with 300k miles just had its first oil change ever. If you are looking for something that would help you from snowing on all your clothes I would recommend this highly just know it smells bad. It’s worth it to me and my redness and dandruff is gone. I hope this helps you like it did for me. Because I tried so many things for years and everything was just trash with no results. But this ! This right here is the Jordan of dandruff shampoo (psoriasis is what I got) . Price is too cheap if you ask me. But dam does it smell bad. You do get use to it though kinda. If you’re still reading this just know it worked right away for me. Literally after 3 uses I had my redness and dandruff disappear like Epstein .

I’ve used it once, it smells really horrendous. Like a railroad tie. I smelled it in my hair even after a couple days with adding other product in. It is truly strong smelling and supposedly not very good for you and could cause cancer with prolonged use. I will only be using it a few times to clear up a red itchy spot on my scalp.
