I was thoroughly impressed by the sound coming from these earphones; these have the sound of ≈$100 full size cans. For context, I hate isolating/in-ear-monitors because of earwax problems coupled with sharing buds with other people, and you can't hear your surroundings when you'll typically be using these on-the-go. This set was the best performing I could find at a reasonable price point with low-impedance for use with a range of devices that fits my criteria.The sound is clear and crisp in the mids and highs. The bass response, for obvious reasons, is not as deep as isolating buds or large cans, but don't get me wrong, the bass in this set is still very good. The bass is very punchy and I find it perfect for classical or rock listening. I still listen to more bass-heavy music with this set, just use an equalizer to boost lower frequencies up a small bit.The build itself appears to be fine. The earphones look like basic $5 earphones that used to come with cassette players; they're not flashy, they're very minimal. There was some talk about this set using a J-cord, but the set I received uses a Y-cord, so I don't know where all that is coming from. The packaging includes a small plastic storage cylinder to keep everything, a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter, user manual, and 2 sets of 3 foam pads. One set of pads completely covers the earphone, and the other set covers it but leaves a hole in the center such that it doesn't block the apertures in the earphone.With an impedance of about 32 ohms, you don't really need an amplifier for it, and I imagine the 1/4" adapter won't be of much use because of this.A lot of people complain about the quality control of Yuin, saying that the buds pretty much fall apart after a few months. I saw these warnings but proceeded anyways, as I believe that for about $35, I am willing to buy more of these as they break simply because it performs so well. When my first pair breaks, I will attempt to repair it and update my review. From what I gathered, it seems to be as simple as contacts getting loose which can (hopefully) be fixed with a small soldering job.I highly recommend these buds because at this price point and earphone type, you cannot get better than the PK3s. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Great sound quality, terrible durability. Why, you ask? Well, it's the one pair that has given me the best sound quality, at a good value, that one could ever ask for from earbuds. But consistently, after about an average of 5-6 months, one of the earbuds dies out. Every time it has happened I bought a new pair thinking to myself, "Maybe this time it will last."One of the earbuds of my current pair just died out just now. I want to be clear that I'm not particularly rough with my earbuds, I'm a college student that walks around a lot but besides that I can't imagine how this anything but a case of terrible durability. It's time to try a new pair. Goodbye Yuin. Perhaps one day I'll return if you one day decide to value customer satisfaction. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great earbuds - Superior sound quality, slightly unreliable build quality *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2014* As most other reviews say, these provide some of the best sound quality you'll find in earbuds and the price is very reasonable for them. However, as most other reviews also say, their build quality is not the best. Within less than a month, I already began to notice an occasional rattle in the left earbud. The wires feel a little flimsy and not very strong. In addition, the way they came packaged caused the wires to be weirdly tangled and curled, similar to how earbuds look if accidentally left in a washing machine. They took quite a while to straighten out and they still feel a little strange. Despite this, after nearly 3 months of using them, they are still working fine for me even though they are carelessly shoved into my pockets nearly every day. They're comfortable to use, come in neat packaging, and the replacement earbud covers are nice to have. Overall, very good earbuds and well worth the price.
