Whatisthe inside diameter please, I bought a 7 mm tube which leaks even with a cable tie fitted

these are 6mm inside diameter, hope this helps.

Is it possible to simply use this as a long straw with other water bottles or must you use Hydrate brand?

You can, but you would need to make sure that the other bottle has a hole a similar diameter. My daughter tried one on her bottle and it just tipped the bottle over.

How do you clean these? My first went mouldy and I I don't want this to happen again!

You can get a cleaning kit. It has a massive long brush that fits inside the tube to wash it out
