I also use BumGenius and these don’t have the stretchy tabs or extended waist band to keep dry. But these diapers fit everything I need to stuff for bedtime. They aren’t too bulky either. They have fit my son since he was 12 pounds/2months old. If you are considering cloth to diaper your baby... This diaper is great for any newbie to the most experienced cloth diapering mama or papa! This is the easiest diaper to use! I currently own 12 of these with no regret! (And have more on the way!!) These diapers are very easy to spray out, wash completely clean and dry super fast! I use the cloth-eez flats and the elemental joy inserts inside these and they are both excellent! If you feel kind of intimidated by the flat have no fear I will tell you the cloth-eez small yellow edge prefold by greenmountaindiaper.com fits perfectly in this diaper for any rise setting! and is also 100% cotton. So you have a lot of control with this diaper! Unlike microfiber using natural fibers absorbs more and wash completely clean. And you don't have to worry about "stripping" microfiber. WHICH IS A-WHOLE-NOTHER TOPIC.. but something to consider! SOO if you want a basic cloth diaper where all you need to know it washing and drying this is the diaper.. In depth... I use "2x planet powder laundry detergent" (super eco-friendly!!) that has worked amazing to clean our diapers and gentle Enough for the whole family including baby to use! But if you wanted a more conventional detergent than Tide Original (Non with added fabric softener) powder or liquid what ever works for your family. But I also do an extra rinse on the wash to double check myself that all the detergent is washed out!
