It’s quite different to the traditional ballcock system...the float is tiny. The image on the box showed a silencer tube but none was provided although I don’t find that a problem. Our water pressure is fairly low and actually hearing the cistern fill...or more importantly stop filling, gives a bit of confidence that everything is working as it should!My main concerns relate to the physical dimensions. I installed a Thomas Dudley Turbo Flush at the same time and with my cistern configurations, there’s not much room to get the Hydroflo in as well. It seems very close to the Turboflush but is working fine so far. It’s also a bit obstructed by the flush handle so that would have to be removed for service etc.The biggest problem though was the height relative to the close coupled cistern lid. That lid has a nib running all around it’s underside so that the lid sits on the cistern and won’t slide off. However because the Hydroflo is quite high and is fixed close to the cistern wall, the top found the lid so that the lid won’t go fully down. In my case, I’m pretty practical and have a decent workshop so with a lot of care I used a small angle grinder to cut off about 150mm length of the nib. I took that very easy, didn’t want to crack the lid but by nibbling away, it only took a few minutes and there’s plenty of nib remaining. That solved the problem and now the lid fits without fouling anything.So overall, having now overhauled the cistern with everything working OK, I’m pleased. It’s a bit fiddly, could be easier and instructions could be improved, but it isn’t rocket science. Grinding the lid seems rather major but in reality wasn’t an issue. Am I glad I bought it now? Yes I am although that’s partly in the hope that it won’t need touching for a good many years! Would I recommend others to buy it?
