I wear a pair of Merrell low rise walking/hiking boots (size 10 UK) and had upgraded the standard insole to a more supportive Superfeet Green pair of insoles, meaning that the fit was slightly tighter and I needed to wear a thinner sock rather than walking socks.I'd tried several different types and brands of sock and wasn't happy with any of them - they either slipped inside the shoe, they were too loose, the pilled easily or were tight above the ankle.I bought these socks on the basis of the great reviews I'd seen here and I'm pleased to say I'm very happy to recommend this product.Shortly after receiving the package, I received a "welcome" type email from the supplier, which I thought was a very professional touch.Following the care instructions, I washed the socks prior to wearing them on my standard mixed coloureds 40 deg wash with a load of other clothes. The socks washed well and dried very quickly on the outdoor line without any shrinkage or fading. I don't bother to iron socks, just folded in half.Wearing a pair for the first time, the 9-11 size I'd bought felt a perfect fit, neither tight or loose and they don't pinch or grip too tightly above the ankle. While you can still feel a little of the ribbing, these are extremely comfortable socks to wear through a 12 hour shift and doing a lot of walking. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality sock which is very comfortable even for that long day. *by M***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 May 2018* I ordered size 9-11 as I am a size 10 and they were the perfect fit. The elasticity of the top band was perfect, it held the socks secure where I put them without being too tight and pinching. The cut of the socks around the toes was comfortable unlike some cheaper alternatives.A nice feature of the size being sewn in white thread on the base of the foot is great to ensure the correct socks goto the right place. A common problem with plain black socks in my house.I wore the socks in work boots for a 12HR shift and my feet felt comfortable and cool throughout the day. I'm very happy with them. They are obviously cotton rich (no sweaty feet). They are also very comfortable to wear. To the touch they seem quite thin but feel just right on the feet. To reduce fluff, I washed them (turned inside out) before my first wear, and dried them on the line in the last of the summer sun. This regime was suggested by the seller in a pleasant email that arrived once I'd placed my order. I suppose it is hard to get excited about socks but these are very nice indeed. Sizing seems fine, too.
