Review: Slow but steady and effective! - We purchased this book for our 2 year old and started reading it in May/June. For context - she loved paci, used it all the time, and a few weeks prior to this book we had started using it only for sleeping. We read this book quite a bit, and even the first time reading it she did cry when she saw how the girl gives up paci, just thinking about it upset her. We stuck with it and kept reading it with no pressuring, just reminding her that slowly but surely we would say bye bye to paci. We would occasionally remind her that when she was ready, we would say goodbye, but again no pressure. Now, in October (so about 4 months later) she woke up one morning and said she was ready, we put the pacis in the special bag, and said goodbye! I really appreciated this book, it helped us so much with this transition and I liked that it didn't rely on anything fictitious (paci fairy) or "white lie" style (like giving their paci's to another baby who can use them). It was straightforward and simple and primed her for deciding when she was ready without us having to be the decider. One more thing - after we said goodbye paci we were firm that we were not going back. She did have a bit of a sleep regression after with both naps and overnights for about 2 weeks but is now pretty much back to her regular sleep schedule. 10/10 would recommend! Review: It worked! - Our 2.5 year old son had always loved his paci, and I dreaded the day we had to make him part with it. We read this book for the first time, and he was immediately intrigued. On day two, he willingly put one paci in the bag, and by day four, he wanted all pacis in the bag! I was skeptical but went with it. He was sad for a few days, but it was nowhere near as dramatic as I feared. This book really helped him understand why we had to give up his pacifiers, and now, a few months later, he still wants to read the book and talk about how he doesnโt need his pacis. Definitely recommend!!

Helped us a lot!
This book worked so well for our 3 year old! He already loved the dentist book from Lovevery (Olivia goes to the dentist), so we combined this book with a trip to the dentist where we talked about giving up the paci. After reading it for just a few nights, he decided to put his pacis in the bag that comes with the book. We werenโt even really pushing it that much! And he quotes the book when he feels sad about missing the paci, but he has managed it pretty well. Love these books!

Really helpful
This was really helpful in prepping and processing the transition away from the binky. I love that it came with the special binky bag. We did the โbinky fairyโ but this book was still helpful in coping ahead.

Nice idea
This book was recommended to me for helping to get rid of the paci. The book is a nice idea but not sure it actually helped my daughter. It did help to introduce the idea of not needing the paci at night.

Worked after the first read!
Worked for my 2 year old after the first book read, without him crying. He was excited to wake up the next morning to say, โI did it!โ Just like the girl in the book. This was a few months ago and he still has never asked for his binkies again.

Great!
We have the Poop and Pee book for toilet training from Lovevery and thought this would be a good read to get our 2-year-old off his soother at night and altogether! Great little story, pretty long but in a good way. Allows time for thinking and contemplation on the topic. Great pictures that our son connected with right away! Going to use our label maker to change โpaciโ to โsootherโ for our purposes!

Loved this
My soother obsessed kid was ready to try sleeping without his paci after three days of reading this book. He put his soother in the bag and never asked for it again.
