That said, there are some drawbacks. Pros: - There are clear lists for the materials needed for each project. (There is not a clear list of tools needed, these are buried within the text). - Most projects seem to give enough detail to complete the projects, though there may be some isolated cases where more research is needed. - This has been a good "starter" for me as far as ideas go. Cons: - This is a book aimed at beginners, but some of the projects require several different tools. One I'm considering requires a miter saw, circular saw or table saw, a drywall saw, a brad nailer (optional, but recommended), and a router. I imagine most beginners may not have all of those tools, so what should be a simple and easy project will require lots of $$$. - Some of the projects require store-bought, pre-made items. For example, the closet build recommends purchasing a bi-fold door from a home store. My personal preference would be projects that are entirely self-reliant.
