After researching numerous laser engraving companies, I settled for Ortur LM2S3 laser engraver. I’m extremely satisfied at its performance and ease of use. I’d advise to get to know Lightburn software and making projects is satisfying. Most importantly, I received follow up messages from Ortur customer support, in particular Lynn, to verify I was satisfied with my product. Her messages has definitely provided me with assurance that Ortur cares and stands behind their products. I even purchased Ortur rotary unit and I’m having fun!! Again thanks Lynn for the follow up! I like the laser itself - cuts through .125” basswood in one pass. If I fault it for anything, it is just this: the assembly instructions are more than a bit difficult to follow and a bit lacking in details. I have a background in assembling, using and maintaining industrial grade CNC metalworking machinery, but this machine was a challenge to figure out how to assemble. Fortunately I have assembled a few desktop lasers and 3d printers so I wasn’t completely lost. It is a very nice and powerful machine, but it really could stand to have the instructions improved.

Shipping was fast and package was in good shape. Setup was good but direction could better for air assist. Also better direction for installing driver. But overall I like it and definitely would recommend for other people

Great laser engraver for the cost. Cuts nicely and is pretty fast.

I write this from my own experience, the product works great and does what I expect of it. One week after using it the Focusing leg and Module failed. I love this feature but it no longer works. Could be easily remedied buy replacing the lower plastic bezel of the module where the focus leg attaches with a replacement. Problem is this company in my opinion does not sell parts for their products. A $300 to $400+ dollar system should be supported by the manufacturer to provide repair parts as needed. Any competent manufacturer will provide parts! Ortur will not even respond to my question via email. I have been in contact with support, and once they find out what I need they go silent. These units will have part failures, they see a lot of mileage if you use them like I do. I cannot justify spending $300+ dollars on any tool with no prospect of repairing it. It appears that Ortur see's these as disposable! not repairable.

Directions are not straight foward, but easy enough to follow. The value is great. It's great setup for beginners or someone who isn't planning to make a large quantity quickly. Speed is variable, based on the settings you use in whichever laser engraving tool being used. I have only used it on wood so far, and I have made some great stuff, that looks clean. Attached is a recent burn I did.

Using LaserGRBL I have had several issues with this unit. I don't know if it is software or hardware issues yet. But my BIGGEST complaint is the wire management. Do NOT buy this model. Make sure it comes with a drag chain to keep the wires from getting tangled up. Factory says you can buy from third party. But that doesn't give you the brackets to attach to the laser. Your on your own to engineer some attaching brackets.

Works great so far. I've cut cardboard, 10mm plywood, and engraved tempered glasses. The YRR2.0 Rotary Roller is kind of useless. I kept it because it will have its purpose with long items, but I get far more use out of the YRC1.0 Rotary Chuck. If you want to do cups, or really anything else that isn't a perfect cylinder, just get the YRC1.0 it will make your life much easier.
