All I have is the ability to read WMA and MP3 files off of a CD. No BT audio except for the hands-free calling system. Got this device in the hopes of being able to 1) make better use of GPS apps since the phone screen is rather limited, and 2) use the Apple Music subscription I have and barely used for the longest time.Took me a little bit of troubleshooting to figure out why I never got the CarPlay prompt when pairing the device with my phone. If this is also you then you want to make sure CarPlay is enabled in your screen time settings. In iOS 18.1 that is:Settings >> Screen Time >> Content & Privacy Restrictions >> Allowed Apps & Features(Totally obvious, everyone thinks to look 3 layers deep for a setting)Initially I tried the window mount because it feels a bit less permanent than a big sticker on the dash, but after a little driving around, I'm probably going to change it to the "H" mount. The window mount just has the device bouncing up and down every time I hit even a tiny little bump in the road, so I tried arranging it so it actually sits on the dashboard. That solves the up/down bouncing, but not side-to-side swaying. I can't help but think how over time that's going to weaken the hold on the glue. The "H" mount should provide a bit more stability at the cost of not being as flexible in placement.All in all, while it's not as slick as having an in-dash device, it's maybe half the price of your average after market in-dash device assuming you do the install yourself, and is maybe a quarter or less of a single car payment. The one thing I'd recommend for a future model is to add a small battery. Just enough to power the device for maybe 5 minutes, so if you're sitting in the car with the engine off, then start the car to go somewhere, the device doesn't have to reboot. Would also be nice if they could work out a window mount that doesn't have to photobomb the front facing camera and adds some additional stability.Edit 12/17/24: After using the device for a while, the microphone for using Siri seems pretty much useless if there's music playing. You have to practically shout for it to trigger and then maintain that same volume for the command. Doesn't change my overall opinion much since I rarely use Siri anyway, but it is a minor disappointment because it would be useful for changing songs on Apple Music without me having to reach over and hit the button. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A year later and still a great device, support is awesome. *by D***Y on June 17, 2025* Purchased and installed in Jul 24. Everything worked as described. Had no issuesconnecting and using it with Android Auto on Pixel 7 phone in a Ram truck. The layout is easy to navigate and the settings were simple to configure, very intuitive. Mounting was simple and straight forward. The front camera works great and has good resolution. I also used the included rear camera for a camera on the back of my attached trailer. This was a huge safety benefit as I can see traffic behind the trailer at all times. It only requires a camera extension cable which was easily purchased on Amazon.Yes, occasionally the Bluetooth would disconnect randomly but then quickly reconnect. No different than most phones and any Bluetooth system. This happened very rarely and I would not call it a defect. The 12v adapter may lose power occasionally if not locked in solidly but that is more of a car issue. I switched from the included adapter to a smaller USB-C 5V 3A plug to prevent this and that has not happened again.I also have had it cycle power randomly while driving even though the plug did not lose power. The unit completely shuts down and reboots as if I cycled the power switch. I thoght it was the power plug but it continued to happen with other cables and plugs and even in other cars. LAMTTO just recently reached out asking if I was pleased and I replied I was even with the random power cycling. It's done it since new and I never complained. They said that was unfortunate and offered some TS steps. It still randomly occured so they decidided to send me a new unit. I did not even ask for it but was very grateful and received a new unit that has not shut off yet and seems to stay connected via Bluetooth much better.Overall the unit is easily a 4 star unit but because of the outstanding support, I will give it a full 5 stars. I recommended it to my son who has installed one in a Nissan Xterra using Apple Carplay and his has functioned flawlessly for months now. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A necessity if you own an iPhone 16 Pro Max. *by J***N on April 5, 2025* The only reason I needed this was because my iPhone 16 Pro Max does not work in the sun and that’s where I’ve mounted previous iPhones to follow maps, play music, use phone, etc etc. All this unit does is use car play to act as a remote for the iPhone that can’t work in the heat of the sun. And I don’t live in a hellish climate. It does add the road cameras which is a very nice addition to the game. It the nicest cheap unit I’ve seen.
