All of the images have a murky haziness to them, that might not be for everyone, but I like it as it really looks like they're underwater. It almost puts me in mind of older oil paintings where the varnish is tarnishing. It give them a softness. There is a solid color palette - almost pastels. Each suit has two colors that dominate. Cups/Chalices is pink and a soft purple, Wands is turquoise and orange, Pentacles is Red and a darker orange, and swords is blue and indigo, which can make Swords seem very monochromatic at times (especially the king), but splashes of the colors from other suits are in most every card. The Majors have other colors included, like greater amounts of white, darker purples and different greens and yellow, but they also use the colors from the minors. It separates the arcanas and suits nicely, while also making them a cohesive deck.It follows the rider-waite system faithfully - which makes this a very accessible and easy to pick up deck. There are a few cards where the traditional images don't quite fit the mermaid theme and I wish they'd deviated a bit more - particularly the 5 of chalices (using sea shells for cups underwater doesn't easily convey tipped over cups). The single exception I noticed was the 10 of Pentacles. It's just three mermaids in a vague triangle with ten pearls around them. If the title wasn't on the card I wouldn't know what it was. The only cards I really have a gripe about are the Queens of Wands and Pentacles. The images are gorgeous, but I wish they were reversed. The Queen of wands leans forward with a motherly, attentive look on her face that seems more Pentacles to me, while the Queen of Pentacles sits very powerfully on her throne and looks fiercely into a pearl she's holding up level with her face, which seems more like an inspired Wands queen.The Little White Book included is serviceable, but disappointing. The keywords are all correct and helpful, so if you've never picked up a deck before you could be confident you're learning it right; but it is obviously for a different deck. A fairy deck I'm assuming as it has things like "elf" and "dryad" in parentheses beside some of the major arcana, and the minors have substitute names (acorns for bells). It just says "mini tarot" on the front, so I'm not sure if I got a wrong one in error, or if they just used an existing one for all mini tarots. So, it gets the job done perfectly, but: disappointing. The artist went to a lot of trouble and time to make the mermaid images, I would have preferred a LWB with their keywords.Note: all the mermaids are bare-chested, so if that's not something you want on your cards, you might try another deck. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dreamy gorgeous deck *by M***H on Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2016* Gorgeous deck.
