Table is very nice looking--I love the color of the top. It's a nice charcoal gray--not the green you find on most ping pong tops. It looks great in my red & black game room. (Go Dawgs!) This table top would be at home in very fancy, elegant game rooms. It fits well on my older pool table which is 52" wide and 92" long. The table top itself is exactly 5' wide and 9' long, so there's some overhang all the way around, but it doesn't look odd. I will probably end up making some sort of a brace to support the very middle of the table top. There is no sagging now, but I'm afraid it's bound to sag a little if left on the pool table long-term. It's a pretty wide span between the rails and the table top is pretty heavy. Speaking of heavy, the table is heavier than I expected. That's good and bad. The weight and thickness provide a great playing surface. The table is solid and seems to play very true at all spots on the table. However, I really struggle to install it by myself (I've done it a couple times solo, but it's not easy). It really is a 2-person job to place and/or remove the table top. I did have the net and posts in a box within the bigger box. Really wasn't very hard to find for me, but then again I knew what to expect based on the other reviews. Set up of the net is a little different than others I've seen, but it's not difficult and has worked well for me. Delivery was easy--the delivery guy brought the box off his truck and took it all the way to my garage. From there, I used my handtruck to move it to my basement. Again, it's heavy, but very do-able even solo with a handtruck. If you don't have a handtruck, you definitely need 2 people to move the box. I had a couple spots of some kind of residue on the playing surface. It looked like dried glue or epoxy. I emailed the company right away with pictures to make them aware of how it was received. They were very responsive and opened a ticket right away to address it. In the end, I was able to easily remove it with a wet rag (it dissolved easily) so I didn't have to pursue the customer service claim, but it's nice to know they were responsive and seemingly willing to correct if I couldn't remove it or if removing it damaged my playing surface. It would be awesome if the company made some kind of a rolling storage rack to store the top when not in use. I'm considering trying to make something like that, as right now I just have to lean the tops against a wall. With 4 kids, I worry that a top will get knocked over and hurt one of them or the top. A nice, compact, secure, mobile storage rack would be a great accessory to have. All-in-all, I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this product for anyone with a pool table who also wants a ping pong table but doesn't have the room for both. Because converting back and forth isn't extremely easy (although not too bad), if you have the room for both, I would opt for a stand-alone ping pong table. If you're in the market for a conversion top as I was, you can't go wrong with this one.

Excellent product! I was very pleased with the delivery and condition of the table on arrival. I researched A LOT before buying this so read other reviews about items damaged on arrival. My table arrived without any damage and with all the parts in order. The full foam padding across the back protects our pool table beautifully. The table top is heavy and looks to be great quality. I like the grey too as it matches our pool table and room decor. The table itself is easy to set up (it took all of five minutes) and is sturdy and well made. It plays beautifully. There is no movement or flex and you really cannot tell it is in two parts. This was a surprise for my husband and he is thrilled with it. We’ve played a lot since Christmas Day and have used the pool table more than ever now that it’s a table tennis table. It’s great to know the table top can also be used on other tables too.

The first table was damaged. It wasn't Joola's fault. They actually package the table very well. It was Pilot Freight. The second table arrived undamaged thanks to XO Logistics. You need to be very careful moving the table sections. I accidentally dropped one corner while taking it out of the packing material. It only dropped about 1/2" but it dented the corner and chipped off a piece of the white edging on the top corner. I have glued it back but it makes me sick to have it happen. We placed the two table parts on our kitchen table. The full foam backing is very nice and protects the table. The net went on very easily and seems very nice. We aren't advanced but this table seems to bounce the balls better than any table we have played on. It is also nice to have a full size table. The two pieces are still large (about 5' x 5') and heavy so moving and storing them isn't "easy" We thought about getting a conversion table the broke into 4 pieces. While the portability would be nice there would be a seam down the center of the table which would effect play. All-in-all this is a great table and we are happy with out purchase.

Table came on time as scheduled with the Amazon delivery. packaging was in good condition but upon unpacking I found one of the metal "L" shaped net brackets looked more like a "V" but not an issue to bend it back into shape. The directions that came with it are extremely basic but then again pretty basic setup, just remember that you need to re-tie the string to the appropriate length for the metal bead chain to fit into the slot. The picture only install instructions don't really give good detail. I used the two pieces of what looks like a 2x4 foam used in the packing to lay on the pool table in the center to support the middle seam and prevent the board from sagging over time. The instruction did not call that out but seemed to be a perfect fit for my pool table. The net is pretty basic and I was not sure about it but it works great.... no need to upgrade unless future use shows a need but I think it will hold up fine. Table is solid and does not move but we are not hitting up against it. I wanted a blue finish but after getting this setup, I actually really like the black. The family is having a blast with it.... the only bad thing so far is.... no one wants to play pool.

Received my conversion top yesterday. As many other's described there was damage to the box and, consequently damage to the table. However, Joola packs the table and ships it so the side of the box that rests on the floor of the truck, pallet, warehouse has the middle or connecting part of the conversion top (the part that goes under the net. So, you really cannot see the damage and does not affect the play of the table. The table's actual thickness of MDF material is 9/16" but add the rubber backing to bring it closer to 3/4'. Still, a very good mid-grade table. When I set this on my pool table I had a bit of sag. Now, the top is heavy, but the leather pockets on my table are not flush with the rails, they actually are raised a bit which gives it a nice look. Add to that, I left the cover on my pool table for protection so that adds a bit. So here is what I did to compensate for any sag, In my case it worked perfect. You may find you need to only glue 3 high instead of 4 high if you try this. Or, you may want to use 2x4 or 1x2 strips of pine. I just re-used what was already there....... 1. After the table was unpacked there was 4 thin and long pieces of unfinished compressed particle board. I simply cut each in half to make 8 thin and half as long pieces. 2. I then used wood glue and 2 clamps and glued 4 pieces together and let set as directed (gorilla wood glue about 30 minutes) and then repeated this step for the remaining 4 pieces. 3. I placed then long ways on the table so that the middle of each length is under the net, of course I spread them out to a nice even spacing. I DID GET A NET...IT WAS IN THE INVISIBLE BOX IN THE PACKAGING!! After thinking for at least 2 minutes that I got screwed and didn't get the net, there it was in a smallish box. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT JOOLA PLACE A GREEN OR ORANGE STICKER ON THIS BOX. Ok, having said that, the net is actually not bad it sets up nice, but don't try to make it taught because the string (see picture) that Joola uses to lace through the top of the net is really poor. On initial setup, the string actually began to fray and split and I am hanging on to a thin strand now. Not a problem for today, but when I will need to add more tension, I will snap the string. So, for now I am going to just see if I can use some Kite string (which is usually much stronger) and tie it to the end of the existing string and carefully thread it through the top of the net. I also order the JOOLA WM Table Tennis Net Set which Joola claims is their top of the line net. I'll use the pro-net and have the stock net as backup. Overall, this is a nice conversion top. It is heavy enough to stay put and the rubber backing also helps with that. The black finish is appealing to me. I am happy with my decision to purchase this item.

This is an excellent table tennis top for a pool table. The price is reasonable yet the table is thick and well-made so it provides good stability and bounce when you play. I recommend getting the foam padding underneath for just a bit more. It helps stabilize the table and keeps your pool table underneath from getting scratched.

Love it! Great deep color, nice thickness. Great bounce, great sound, consistent side to side. Looks cool. Our basement pool table wasn't getting much use, so after an evening of ping-pong fun at my niece's house, I bought this. Arrived as scheduled in really sturdy packaging (metal/wood frame inside the cardboard box to protect the corners during shipping). Got it downstairs (heavy, only in 2 pieces, so awkward) - and then it went together easily, sits on the pool table perfectly, and screwed together super-quick. Has two metal braces with wing-nut screws that hold it together and line it up. Net went up, and we were playing in no time. Used it in two days more than we used the pool table in last several months or year. It was a pain to get into basement, but now there we can remove it in about 5 minutes and move to side if we ever want to play pool. More fun now, tho, and I think our teenage daughter will enjoy it more than pool when friends are over. My only suggestion would be to make the net holder a bit "beefier". It works OK, just looks a bit cheap. For the high quality of the rest of this table, a little more thickness in the metal might be more consistent. Minor gripe. Overall, VERY happy with purchase. In fact, we're gonna go down and play right now!

This conversion top is great! I was a little concerned about size since I bought it for a 9' pool table, but you can see from the pictures that there is just a very small border that is not covered. We set it up and immediately played with no trouble. I bought the fully-padded version to ensure the pool table was completely protected, and it is really stable with a solid play area. Other than being heavy, which ensures a solid play area, it was really easy to assemble. The table came well packaged and in perfect shape. The guys who delivered it were awesome. It is heavy, so I appreciated that Amazon schedules the delivery differently andsends two guys to deliver it, who bring it into the house for the customer. The instructions from Amazon very clearly said you have to be home to receive this and there were a lot of delivery window options when I checked out. E ven though they all end at 3pm, I could schedule delivery for a day I was not at work. Because of these instructions and accommodations, I recommend ignoring any bad reviews that complain about the box being left outside and weather damaged.

Arrived early (on a Sunday no less!) with no issues with the table. The table packaging was reinforced with rubber bumpers for the table corners and MDF planks to protect and stabilize the table (I include this info because reviews of other tables have noted bad shipping experiences, which was my main concern). Set up was straight forward following the instruction manual. The table is sturdy and fairly heavy and doesn't appear to be made of flaky, poor quality material. The net design isn't the absolute best, but it is good quality for the price, allows the tension to be adjusted and a good design for shipping. Foam backing on the table keeps the table steady and in place. One potential addition I may make (or design change to consider) is including a couple of shims or spacers to add some support at the table ends and possibly a brace to tie the two table pieces together just for extra extra stability, but this would only be ideal for situations where the table isn't intended to be converted much (i.e., to play pool). Overall, the quality of the table is quite good and I'm pleased with the product. It is essentially what I wanted - a sturdy table tennis top that is mobile enough to switch out when I want to play pool instead.

We used this table top to convert a dining room table for table tennis. Since our dining room table is only about 5 feet long, we added a pair of legs on each side additional support. The table top was packed well and arrived in excellent shape. It came with a net and hardware to hold the 2 pieces together. Very easy to assemble. The table top surface was flat, with a good finish and a good bounce. This was one of the more expensive conversion table tennis tops so our only slight negative is the price (but I guess you get what you pay for :-).

If you're looking for a good quality table top to convert your pool table over for ping pong/table tennis, this is a great pick. Be sure to compare pricing with shipping on other sites as Amazon often still is the best price. It comes shipped well protected and will need to have a scheduled delivery because of the size of the item. My kids love it and the quality is really good. Make sure you've got someone on hand to help you move the table as the panels are really heavy and sturdy.

Good table but be careful with the sharp edges Table is nice made of good materials, smell for a couple of weeks abs then barely noticeable. I choose the thin version it is still good to play at home but may not as good and quiet bounce as tables in recreation Centers. One thing i don’t like is the sharp edges. I even wrap with some tape, but still quite easily create one bruise on my arm and bump my head when pick up a ball.

I purchased this table top for my Pool table. It was delivered in one package. very heavy to take it to the basement with my wife so we opened the package and carried the table in two pieces. very easy to install and good playing surface for the money. I wish the board was a bit thicker as I like to install some bracket underside of it to hold balls and paddle set. Kids really love the table and they play every day since we got it.
