Propane can be costly when it's the primary fuel used in our cold mountain air. This lighter came in the night before a snow storm was to hit, temps were to drop below 20. This amazing tool has saved me both time and money. No more cheap fireplace lighters that blow out before the paper tinder catches, and they go dry in less than a week. In less than 5 minutes this morning I had a fire going. 17 degrees outside but my house is warm and cozy. The propane heater hasn't kicked on since before dawn and it's now lunch time. When it's being used it emits a high pitched buzz sound which surprised the crap out of me. It isn't a bad noise, just not something I expected. What I especially like about this lighter is that my wife has these candles all around the house that are almost burnt out and she refuses to throw them away. So they have very deep wicks on them that are hard to reach with a normal lighter. That's no longer an issue with this because it lights it right away with ease. And I like that it's rechargeable, so we don't have to worry about running out of fluids and stuff.
