Worth every penny. This machine works way better than the old pole and net.
This device is fantastic. Because the battery charges up enough via the solar panel to run the skimmer for thirty hours, it runs all the time, day and night. My pool has never been as continuously clean as it is since I put it in last month. Because of that, there is less debris on the bottom of the pool as well. The basket is a breeze to remove and empty, and the remote makes it easy to bring the device over to the side of the pool to service. Takes two minutes to empty the basket and replace. They its back to work. Because of the success we have had with this robotic skimmer, I have now gone to a similarly priced robotic vacuum (Aiper Scuba S1) that is equally effective. It cleans far better than the Heyward hosed vacuum I have had for years. Five stars, now, of course, depending upon how long the device lasts. It was recommended to me by a friend who, after three years, is purchasing his second one.

Works GREAT - was getting stuck on Polaris hose but i fixed that!
update- it's been nearly a year, I'm very happy with the robot. It's still performing great! I will check back / update in a week or so and most likely update this to a five star review from four stars, assuming that my adjustments to the Polaris hose have fixed the beta robot frequently getting stuck on the hose. (I’ve had it running seven days now). First off I was very surprised and happy with how well this unit cleans any debris from the surface of my pool, it actually cleans much better than I was doing myself going around with a net about once a day or every other day. A big part of that is because there is a very fine mesh in the basket of this beta, so it grabs much smaller items and, tiny little things that would pass through my net. And of course it does a better job cause it’s constantly running. I very much recommend getting the unit that allows you to plug it into the wall to charge occasionally, although I only have had to charge it once, and that’s when it first came in and I just did that as you’re always supposed to fully charge any lithium ion Battery/devices before first use. It has been a week now and the unit has constantly showed “good battery level” so the solar seems to be working great. (The only indication of battery level is the two blinking green lights on the front of the unit). I have cameras around my pool so it does look like the unit runs 24/7 , although I’m assuming at times it pauses/stops. I just haven’t happened to see that , as anytime I see it , It’s running. The only reason I’ve taken off one star is because the unit would very frequently get stuck on my Polaris hose to the point where you would have to dip down the hose or push the beta back for it to get unstuck, I even tried leaving it stuck for 12 to 24 hours and it would not get unstuck, however, I think I’ve now fixed that. The other reason for taking off a star, I’m assuming this unit has an accelerometer built into it, or even if it doesn’t - it really should have much better detection of getting stuck on something like the Polaris hose so that it would back out or never collide with it in the first place, however this is not the case as it will frequently get stuck on the hose. But the good news is, I was able to resolve this (at least as of the past three days), simply by moving around the floaters on the Polaris hose, in my case I was able to just slide them around so that as you can see in the photo, floaters are as close together as possible, right by the hose junctions which keeps a majority of the hose down below the water level, and the parts where the two floaters are very close together are high enough up that the beta now does not get stuck up on them . You can see in the photos I’ve attached to this review, these photos are after I’ve adjusted the hose floaters and in these photos, the betta absolutely would have gotten stuck on the hose before my hose adjustments, however, as you can see it is not getting stuck now. Also, this may be very important, I changed the timers around so that my Polaris vacuum / hose only runs at night assuming the betta might be sleeping at that point, I’ve also changed the Polaris/ hose to only run a few hours a day as there’s much less trash on the bottom anyway, as opposed to before I had it running about eight hours a day. If the Polaris is running during the day and the betta is also running at the same time, there’s a much higher chance the hose will ensnare the betta. However, I will update in a few days if this has not resolved the issue, and the betta is still constantly getting stuck, however, that does not seem to be the case. It seems like all is good now vacuum hose pool, vacuum hose weights that you can buy on Amazon, however, that does seem to be pretty useless, as they’re not heavy enough nor do they properly fit the hose but as you can see in my photo, I did stick four of the 8x weights wedged on the actual floaters - so they may be helping keep the hose below the water however, I’m more inclined to believe that *just* sliding the floaters closer together is all that is needed. It would be nice if there were a slightly more expensive beta version that allowed you to see how much battery charge is in the unit and possibly updated firmware as well as adjust the sensitivity or collision detection. (however that would have to be via an app most likely, and it would most likely have to be more expensive than the $350 I paid for my betta se). Bottom line, if my adjustments to the Polaris hose have stopped the beta from getting stuck on it then I’m super happy with this beta and will recommend it to others, however, if however, it should be noted that initially the unit would constantly get stuck on the hose as in every four hours or so. (Will update this review and my rating in the next week or so.) (Also it’s very cool / neat to see the little unit driving around the pool and getting close to the wall and then reversing and rotating ECT)

Great time saving robot
Great time saving robot. This is lite, easy to use, self charging on sunny days, and cleans the entire pool without an issue. It operates at the same time with a side suction vacuum or a corded robot cleaner. Cleaning the catch basket is easy and simple, you don't even have to take to robot out of the pool. I would recommend to anyone pool owner who is looking to save time with pool cleaning. This prevents small debris from getting into your filter and prolongs the time in between backwashing and filter cleaning.

Ease of use, cleaning ability.
This has been a game changer for me. Pool surface always had this film layer and leaves floating. This has eliminated these rwo issues. Ease of use great. Run time is none stop with solar charging. Its running at 5 am each morning from the previous days charge. Large basket, easy to remove and clean.

Best pool investment ever!
Best pool investment hands down! Just opened our pool for our 3rd season and put this guy to work right away. I bought the dual charging (solar and electric) but have never needed to plug in. It runs on solar non stop and saves so much work both for me and my skimmers. Plus by getting debris before it sinks to the bottom, it also saves work in vacuuming. It’s so simple and yet it makes such a big difference! Pollen in the spring and leaves in the fall are both manageable with this one machine. I would not be without my Betta ever again. I hope he lives forever, but if not, I will purchase another exactly the same.

Great Skimmer 😀
The machine did what I wanted, it collected all of the leaves, bugs and even pollen from the surface of the swimming pool. It was nearly silent and worked right out of the box, night and day. It is very easy to clean out and in the Florida sunshine it stayed fully charged. Downside? Sure, it’s a bit pricey and the remote had a learning curve. Not a deal breaker. I would have given it 5 stars, but I only used it 7 days before storing it for the pool work and I need to get a better understanding of the remote. After using it for seven days, I removed it from the pool, cleaned it and put away in the garage as I was preparing for major work on the pool. The pool work was delayed for a few days so I got in for a swim. Without the skimmer in the pool for 24 hours, there were leaves, bugs and pollen. Rather than retuning the skimmer to the pool for one last swim, I grabbed my pole net. Ten minutes later I got in the pool. No leave but, pollen and a few small bugs were still present. Totally confirming why I love this power skimmer after only seven days. When the pool is refilled with water the Betta SE Plus will be returned to duty.

Great product
This is a genius little robot. I dont usually leave reviews but this robotic skimmer has made such a difference in the cleanliness of my pool! I have a 20x40 foot pool and the pool skimmer just don't keep up. No screen enclosure and my neighbors have trees that leave a big mess, especially in spring. I almost don't need to run my Dolphin vacuum with this little workhorse going. It came charged. I put it in the pool when it arrive 6 days ago and it hasn't stopped running since! A breeze to clean. Get it!!!

A MUST HAVE POOL PRODUCT !!!!!!!!
I am really sorry that I did not know a product like this existed many years ago, it would have made owning a pool a really great thing indeed instead of the years of suffering I endured before this wonderful device came along. Before I discovered this pool cleaning robot, the surface of my pool was a daily chore of constantly grabbing the pool skimmer net and getting all the dead Bees, Flies, Leaves, the neighbors leaves and everything else that fell into my pool skimmed off the surface. Many times this was a twice a day chore depending on the season. The Betta SE Plus pool skimmer robot can clean 24/7, even at night with no sunlight to charge the device. It is WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!, and works exactly as described, its well made and charges sufficiently during the day to continue to cleaning the pool even in the darkness of night. I would highly recommend buying the BETTA SE PLUS pool skimmer as a must have pool cleaning tool that you can not live without. Another problem the pool skimmer has fixed for me as well is the problem of Bee’s landing in the water, then getting on the floating chairs and hiding in between the folds of the cloth back of the chair, then when someone sits on the chair they get stung in the back, this has happened to me twice and once to my grandchildren, it is really painful !! Since getting the BETTA SE PLUS Pool skimmer, the pool robot picks up all the floating bees that are still alive on the water surface and dead ones too, if the bees are still alive and can fly away they just get out the sides of the skimmer device and fly away to safety. Since I purchased the skimmer device I have not been stung by any bees. There are a lot of useless pool products that do not work out there, but this is definitely not one of them, I’ve owned my pool for 25 years and I can tell you that this is one of the BEST pool accessories ever invented, it’s basically like a Roomba robotic vacuum for your pool and it seems to know where the floating stuff is and goes after it. I am really glad that I bought this and it has saved me a load of work.

Great product BUT wrong power plug
I received my robot yesterday and so I read the instructions and placed the robot in the pool It worked perfectly But The plug pack that was provided is a us plug and the connection to the robot is a very specific 3 point connection so I can’t just buy a new Australian plug pack I have to buy a converter which is not ideal If you know you are dispatching the unit to Australia surely it would be smart to provide the buyer with the correct plug type Great product but be aware that if you are buying for Australia you will receive the wrong plug type

Best pool accessory!
Works great. We have a lot of trees on our yard and manual skimming had to be done at least once daily, especially on windy days. The skimmer basket would need to be emptied of leaves frequently. But not anymore! The Beta skimmer works great! Keeps the debris off the surface and from eventually sinking to the bottom. Being solar powered, I leave it in the pool 24/7. I only take it out when someone’s swimming. The basket is a good size and easy to empty and rinse. Highly recommend!

Simply Brilliant !!!
First off I have to say I am not affiliated with Betta and that I paid for my device. I mention this because the Betta is brilliant, in fact it’s better than brilliant, it’s a total game changer. My pool used to have a ton of pollen, dead insects, algae and dust on the surface, this would collect in corners like a soup and line the walls. Enter the Betta! I love that there is no configuration; remove a couple of pieces of tape, slide the power switch on and put the device in the pool. My second home is in West Africa, which is virtually always sunny so I didn’t have to charge it. Straight away it’s collecting all tiny debris on the surface, this little guy works 24/7 cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. After a day I took it out to clean the ton of pollen and other stuff it had picked up. A week in and my pool has never been cleaner, not even when it was built. I also put the chlorine tablet in the basket which is a touch of genius. I used to spend a load of time skimming the pool with the net, problem is dust, sand and other small debris pass right through. Not so with the Betta, every tiny speck is gone, the water is now crystal clear. When I swim I look across the surface and see perfect glassy looking water and nothing else. The Betta never stops; when I’m at work it’s cleaning, when I’m asleep it’s cleaning, when I’m out having a pizza, it’s cleaning… you get the picture. The remote control is also a great touch. I have a hose at one corner of the pool so when it’s time to pull out the Betta and wash-out the basket a couple of presses on the remote sends it the right way. I had one concern; would the Betta get stuck on the pool entrance, which is a dead-end? I also have a couple of built-in tables in the water which could present a challenge. Not a bit of it, it can do a perfect 90 or 180 degree turn if it needs to, therefore it never gets stuck. After six weeks there were two consecutive cloudy days here, for the first time ever, at around midnight on the second day the Betta stopped. The next day the lights were flashing red, then green intermittently, I left it to its devices so it stopped again during the night, however after that it’s been running 24/7 once more. The maintenance of my 11x5 metre in ground pool has now been reduced to around 90 minutes each week. The Betta catches virtually everything, however a very small amount of dust and other particles inevitably get past it. I vacuum the bottom once a week as well as cleaning out the Betta every 3 days. So there I am thinking the Betta is perfect, when one of the lights stops working. Betta support is only available within the US and Canada so I won’t be able to get this repaired. It’s not often that something comes along to give one so much time back as well as making life better, however this is the case here, in fact I couldn’t think of any way to improve it. Five stars, five hundred stars if that were possible.
