My experience with all battery powered tools is that the batteries generate heat when used. Warm is normal, hot is not. **Q: How do you change the bulb? The cap doesn't unscrew when you turn it.** A: Sucks. Dont drop this B$$$H!!!! Went through YouTube tryen to figure out how to change the bulb. Went to Amazon for the reviews. Sucks. Now it’s going in the trash!!!! **Q: Does it take D batteries as well?** A: Oddly, it was designed for ONLY AA batteries, and it needs all 12. That's 18 volts. LED devices have gotten so advanced, they can design flashlights to run on 3 or more batteries of 1.5 volts each, and they can design them with various types of LED bulbs. No need to design a power supply of 18 volts then reduce it to 3 or 4 volts (for the bulbs).
