It came already came set up, defaulted for 3 minute rounds with a ring with 30 seconds left, then there's a one minute rest period. The bell sound isn't too loud. Each round is tabulated after each cycle is completed. The unit clips next to where the boxing bag is mounted in the gym. I can get started and run through my full routine of 8-, 10- or 12 rounds. While others stand around I can pile through a full, accurate workout. The directions are typically quirky, but I went with the prearranged timings. I recommend this training round timer.
