While one is stone and likely cost over $100.00, my favorite is actually a dog bowl (double lined) I got when I first started shaving with a straight razor a decade ago.This copper bowl is a great size for either cream or hard soaps (although Iā€™m not sure of the long term effects of a melted hard soap placed inside), and the dimples on the interior really assist in whipping up lather.The construction of the bowl is rough, but it does not appear cheap when on display in a razor case. One issue with this (and any other non-insulated metal bowl) is that it quickly cools to the ambient or surface temperature; which in turn cools its contents (resulting in cold shave lather on second application).
