The 4 Pillars of Problem-Solving: 169 Techniques & Hacks to Solve Challenges With Strategic Thinking. Build Relationships and Collaborate With People by Fixing Tough Problems Using Creative Solutions Review: My review - So I just finished this book and want to write my opinion here. Sorry if it is a long review, but there is a lot to say about this book. First of all, if you're stuck on a problem, whether it's at work or something personal, this book could be the game-changer you need. Before this book, I thought some problems were just too big, but this book breaks it all down and shows you there's always a way to figure things out. The book really digs into how to think smarter about problems. It's not about quick fixes but getting to the bottom of what's really going on and dealing with it from all sides. This has totally changed how I look at problems. Now, instead of hitting a dead end, I see a puzzle that I'm ready to solve. Then there's the part about firing up your creativity. If you ever thought you weren't the "creative type," this book will make you think again. Meyer teaches you how to light up that creative spark in yourself. The tips on being more creative and coming up with new ideas have been super useful, especially when working with others and trying to think out of the box. Another big thing I took from the book is about working together with people to solve problems. It shows that figuring things out isn't just about going it alone. It's about pulling in the strengths and ideas of the people around you. The book gives you tips on how to talk and work together better, which has helped me a lot, not just at work but with my friends and family too. What's cool is that this book works for any kind of problem you're facing, big or small, personal or professional. The ideas in here are for everyone. You'll start to see problems as chances to grow and get better, which is pretty awesome. And don't worry, it's not a tough read. Meyer has a way of explaining things so they're easy to get. The book has stories from real life that show you how these ideas work, making it easier to see how you can use them in your own life. It's shown me how to face problems with more confidence and creativity, and I'm seeing the difference it makes every day. I'd really recommend it to anyone who's ready to look at solving problems in a new way and make some real changes. Review: Great read - I recently read this book, and it truly made a difference for me. The content was beneficial, providing efficient strategies and frameworks that broke down complex problems into manageable steps. I especially valued the emphasis on structured thinking and the clear, actionable techniques presented. Each chapter seamlessly built upon the last, making the process of problem-solving feel natural and intuitive. This book has helped me streamline my approach and identify solutions without getting bogged down in unnecessary details. Additionally, the author did a fantastic job of providing insightful ways to solve problems, and I can't wait to read more from them in the future. I would definitely recommend this book to others and would give it a 5-star rating.

Great Resource for Your Shelf!
This is a resource that I would keep on your shelf right next to your dictionary or pass along to all heads of departments, companies, etc.. It's a book that I can see myself returning to on several occasions, not to read from front to back, but to utilize the steps when faced with a problem. This book really focuses on approaching problem solving with critical thinking and looking at various perspectives, versus coming from an emotional response. Problems will always be encountered in all aspects of our life, so it is a vital skill to learn how to effectively approach problem solving. This is a book for business owners, teachers, students, health care workers, researchers, politicians, techies, and so many more. Every piece of the book may not apply or speak to every reader, but there are components that are applicable to everyone. The author approaches problem solving by looking at 4 pillars: Understand, Strategize, Decide and Overcome. I really connected with the first pillar focusing on understanding the problem. I find this to be the most important part of the process. This requires one to get to the root of the problem, versus just treating the symptoms, applying bias or jumping to conclusions. It's a crucial stage requiring one not to ignore the heart of the issue or misdiagnose the problem, otherwise it never gets solved and is a waste of time and resources. In the remaining pillars, the author shares various techniques including recommended flow charts and diagrams. He also shares recommended considerations, which is helpful to have in one place. Likes: Handy Resource; Step-by-Step Guide; Worth trying in my next problem solving session Dislikes/Recommendations: Would have been nice to have blank visual examples of the various charts and diagrams at the back of the book with the glossary.

extraordinary!
I have a whole array of problem-solving books cluttering up my shelves, from the likes of "Smarter Faster Better" by Charles Duhigg and "Think Like A Freak" by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner. And yet, none of them have resonated with me quite like this one on strategic thinking and problem-solving techniques. After reading it from cover to cover, I can confidently proclaim that this book is an absolute gem. The way it blends practical, everyday scenarios with towering problem-solving concepts. It doesnโt just whisper theories; it serves up solid hacks that you can implement immediately at home, in the office, or in any problematic situation. It covers crucial keywords like strategic thinking, creative solutions, collaboration, relationships, and overcoming challenges and intertwined in a way that makes sense. Another thing I absolutely love is how this book isn't just about textbook techniques but looks holistically at leveraging your creativity, building strong relationships, and gathering collective intelligence to arrive at innovative solutions. Now, who wouldn't want that?! If you're anything like me and have found other problem-solving books to leave you wanting more, look no further. This guide on strategic thinking and problem-solving, filled with many techniques and hacks, is here to knock your socks off! Trust me on this one; I've read my fair share of books on the subject. This particular gem manages to outshine them all.

Bed Rock for Problem Solving
Everyone faces challenges in life; it's unavoidable. This means that being able to solve problems is crucial for finding happiness and achieving success. I've faced my fair share of personal and professional challenges, probably more than most, but one thing I've always known is that problems won't magically disappear on their own. Solving them requires proactive effort. Not all methods of addressing the issue are successful. Making decisions in problem-solving without properly identifying or understanding the situation can create even larger problems. That's why the problem-solving approach outlined in this piece was so reassuring to me. In this book, the author lays out a simple, sequential process for fixing issues. This book provides a four-pronged approach to help readers overcome obstacles in their personal and professional lives. This book teaches systematic data collection, root cause analysis, and solution formulation. It also provides decision-making advice. Lastly, it provides advice on handling challenges that may arise once solutions are implemented. The author's ability to connect with the reader and offer a clear plan of action is what truly makes this book impactful. Among the many problem-solving strategies and models, the fourth pillar stands out as my favorite. Following the implementation of solutions, the ability to overcome challenges is equally, if not more, crucial than the initial problem-solving steps. For those who often find themselves paralyzed by indecision, this book is an invaluable resource that provides practical strategies for making confident decisions. However, it can also benefit anyone looking to break free from a state of stagnancy and inaction.

Informative
It is good for someone to start reading about problem-solving just to get a general grasp on how to address these types of issues in their daily life. However, I think the author needs to work on the book some more to improve the writing and give more precise and relatable examples.

Well laid out thought process
I want to include some type of problem solving strategy class in our homeschool. I liked this book because of its unique 4 pillar approach. Each pillar is a step in the problem solving process. The pillars cover identifying the problem, strategize solutions, choose an option, and overcome the problem. Each pillar is explained in great detail, but I liked that everything was well laid out and easy to visualize. When it comes to strategizing solutions, this is probably the largest section of the book. Here the reader is taught several different ways to approach a problem to get to a solution. Some of the methods I was familiar with and others I had never heard of. I enjoyed this book very much and I think it will fit nicely into our school year.
