## Description

Product description Remote Control Solution The Cable Matters Infrared Extender Cable allows you to control your Blu-ray player, CATV box, or other video sources from your TV, even if a soundbar is blocking the IR sensor. It's perfect for home theater components hidden in a cabinet or closet. Important Notes 1) Test the cable before securing it with the adhesive backing. 2) Ensure your TV’s USB port provides 5V power even when the TV is off. If not, use a 1A USB wall charger to power the extender. 3) Not compatible with set-top boxes that use RF (radio frequency) signals. 4) Bright sunlight, CFL bulbs, and Wi-Fi routers may interfere with IR signals. Please avoid placing the IR extender near these sources to ensure optimal performance. Quick Installation Guide Place the IR Receiver (Large Head) near the TV within 15 ft of the remote; supports a 30° operating angle and the LED flashes when receiving a signal. Place the IR Transmitter (Small Head) within 5 in of the source device IR sensor with a clear line of sight; use a flashlight to help locate the IR sensor if needed. Use a 5V/1A USB wall charger if the TV USB port does not provide enough power; USB Y-cable length is 6 ft. Supports 30–60KHz IR frequency; avoid interference from CFL bulbs or bright light. Flexible cable is easy to route and secure with a cable tie. How far can the IR extender transmit the signal? Review: Perfect solution - For years we have struggled with contolling the volume of our Sony Audio player connected to our television. Then I wondered if anyone made an IR repeater. The answer was indeed, YES. So I began looking for. Some come with nothing but wires to glue to your devices. Then I saw one that satisfied our needs. It arrived overnight. It had three comonents, a receiver, a USB plug for power, and a transmitter. Perfect. All three were labled - no instructions needed although there were instructions. My wife removed the adhesive from the receiver and placed it on the top of our 80 inch tv. The shee plugged the USB in a spare port and then removed the adhesive from the transmitter and placed it on another corner of our TV. All the wiring is behind the TV. Took us 10 minutes and it works perfectly from 15 feet away. A blue LED lights up steady when a good signal is recived and rapidly blinks if it detects a signal but not strong enough to repeat. I give 5 stars for simplicity, economy, and ease of installation. I would incluide a photo but everything is behind the tv or just poking out where it is barely visable.
Review: Secure receiver with velcro - Easy install. Great product but beware..almost returned the day after install. Didn’t respond . Finally notice the receiver fell off the sensor so I reattached with Velcro. Works great but secure the receiver next to the infrared tv sensor. Original attaching disc to small.

## Features

- IR Remote Control Cable: This IR remote control cable extends the signal to a video source like a Blu-ray player so it can be controlled from your TV. The blue LED in the IR receiver bulb verifies signal transmission.
- Home Theater IR Extender: This home theater accessory repeats the IR signal to a DVD player, STB box, receiver, or other A/V source with an IR sensor. Route the infrared remote control extender cable neatly with a wall-mounted TV and install the IR transmitter in a concealed equipment closet to hide a CATV box while still controlling it remotely.
- Easy Installation: Quickly set up this lightweight IR blaster cord. Place the IR transmitter near the source sensor and the IR receiver within line of sight of your remote. For best performance, keep the blue LED on the receiver facing forward—not upward—for stronger signal reception. IR Tx and Rx cables include adhesive backing for secure mounting.
- USB Powered IR Extension Cable: The USB infrared remote blaster cord features an integrated 6-foot Y-cable to receive 5V USB power. Simply connect the USB cable to a 5V USB wall charger. Note: The TV's USB port does not supply power when it's off, use a USB wall charger instead.
- Universal Compatibility: This IR extender cable works with most A/V equipment with infrared sensors (not RF). The 30-degree IR receiver angle provides flexibility for remote control operation. Check that your devices support IR signals before purchase. Does not work for RF signal devices.
- Extended IR Signal Range: This IR extender supports up to a 15-foot IR signal range for reliable control even at a distance. For optimal performance, place the extender away from Wi-Fi routers or CFL bulbs to avoid interference.

My previous Samsung tv came with an infrared extender, so I assumed when I bought a new S90C from Samsung, it would have one as well. I was wrong. I have Xfinity and to access their features use their remote instead of the Samsung remote, and the Xfinity remote uses IR to turn the tv on and off. Compounding the problem is the placement of the tv's sensor was such that I had a very narrow window for the remote to target the sensor. Short of standing right in front of the sensor, it would take several attempts to find the sweet spot. Reaching out to Samsung and Xfinity was an exercise in futility. Essentially, both companies basically said I was out of luck. Samsung even said the tv was incompatible with an extender. Fortunately I stumbled across this Cable Matters extender and thought hey, for the price it was worth a shot. The bottom line is that it was easy to install and works like a champ. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.
