Like some others have mentioned, I bought these to lift the roots of my curly hair & help with the drying process. They work quite well for that! I would have given 5 stars but because of their shape they tend to roll over to the side when you clip them in your hair... it's truly not that big of deal once you get used to it but it would be better if they didn't. When my hair is about 80 - 90% dry I clip them all over my head to lift the roots, paying special attention to a cowlick I have near the crown.... I clip one right on top of it making sure to grab the hair on all sides. I leave them there for about 15 - 20 minutes then take them all out. Then I clip a few back in to take care of any remaining flat spots or separations in my hair from the first round, and leave them for about 10 mins. They give my hair extra volume, cut down on the time I use the diffuser, &, YAY!! No more cowlick! :)

These are perfect for lifting the roots of my 2B/2C hair after I get it 90% of the way dry with my diffuser. They don’t clamp hard and provide a lot of room for the hair, so they don’t leave a crimp in my hair after I take them out. They probably work best in thicker hair or curlier hair than mine because they can be a little loose, but they are still the best clips I’ve ever used for this purpose.

I bought these to use as a root lifter for my naturally curly hair. They're perfect to uplift roots on the top of my head. Not sure how they are as roller clamps but I give them an A+ as a root lifter!!

Flimsy

I bought these as hair lifters for root volume and for allowing my curly hair to do its thing, not for hair rollers. They work really well for what am wanting them for. I am growing my hair out and these clips allow my hair to naturally wave/curl while lifting from the root. I use all 12, for the crown, sides and back, 3 for each section.
