It is, however, a worth while addition to anyone's library who has an interest in the Second World War and who takes history objectively. The biggest problem with many books written about Hitler is that the writers tend to make it quite clear at the beginnngs that their impressions of the man include the mythical carpet chewing maniac thing so one can never be quite certain that the rest of the book is true history. This video (DVD) does seem to to give a fairly balanced view of the man and his policies and whether one accepts them or not it is, after all said an done, history. Not sure that the commentery is totally objective but it makes a change to see something that does not come to a conclusion at the beginning of the tale. It's all propaganda *by R***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 November 2015* This film was made to show the rise of the Nazi Party in pre - war Germany. There is no biased commentary. The film lets you see in pictures and sound a glimpse into Hitler's private life as well as his political ideologies. Due the lack of commentary the film-makers leave it up to the viewer to form their opinions on the content. However don't get sucked into believing Hitler wasn't all bad, Swastika was made from German propaganda films and home movies by Eva Braun. After watching the film, on the extras menu, is an interview with Albert Speer. He gives "his views" on Hitler & Braun .... interesting, but coming from a Nazi war criminal, time to form your own opinions again.
