It has a distinct and intense flavor that isn't for everyone, it definitely tastes exactly like chili lime. The pieces can be inconsistently soft or tough (but I find that with most jerky). The soft pieces are very soft so that makes up for the tough ones (I have a hard time with tough jerky, crappy teeth but I'm addicted to dried meat!) It can be a little spicy, so if you don't like heat, don't waste your money. I'd say it's about as spicy as Tobasco (not the same flavor, just the heat intensity). I did lower their review a little due to the packaging. Sometimes you get really soft jerky where your teeth just melt right through, and sometimes you get a bag that’s really tuff and your teeth bit through but it’s like meat flossing!!😂 I honestly can’t really tell why this happens, but my best guess is to blame packaging?! It’s the saddest.
