If I am feeding to horses, should it be ground or can it be fed while whole?

I have fed both the whole and the ground. I prefer the ground powder as the bag is smaller and I think that my horse gets a better benefit from eating ground vs whole.

I usually get the powder but the berries are very small so I believe you should be able to crush them easily
