I used this cord to connect an iPhone 7 to a BMW X1. The volume while using this cord was reduced by about 60% over using a normal audio cord. On top of that, the stereo had to be turned off, the phone connected and the stereo turned back on to get it to connect. The connector is not high quality at all and you can hear noticeable static when listening to music with this cord. I plugged it into my cigarette lighter with a USB power adapter and into the aux-in on my car. Charging works but the sound quality is horrible. I think it's due to the poor fit of the lightning connector. Sound quality is perfect using the apple lightning to 3.5mm adapter.
