    It's a scream...

Cheap Trick at Budokan is one of those classic live albums from the 1970s. Unlike the other live albums which were traditionally in double LP format, this album benefits from being a single LP. This means you get the very best of the Cheap Trick experience at the poppier end of their musical spectrum and it is a terrific ride of over 45 minutes of high octane entertainment. That said, the standout track is the darker and heavier 'Need your Love' with its extended instrumental passages. The audience soundtrack with its mostly female Beatles-esque screaming is a little intrusive at times and is almost too much between the song breaks if you are listening at a decent volume but it is all part of the At Budokan experience!

    Great!

I had this on vinyl many years ago. I used to say it has the best B side of any live album. The old "B" side started with "Ain't That A Shame." In truth there is not a duff track on it.
