SDSACZMU Radar Detector Mount, Rearview Mirror Rod Radar Mounting Base, Suitable for Uniden Radar Models

I am giving this 5 stars even thought it does not fit on my 2024 Subaru Outback. The front to back depth of the attachment bracket is literally a few millimeters too thick for the space between the mirror body and the pivot arm the mirror attaches to. So when I installed the bracket the mirror was pushed up to the point where I could only see the very top of my rear window. I was installing the bracket from my passenger seat so the steering wheel was not in my way, and I didn't notice the issue until I sat in my driver's seat to pull the car out of the garage. I drove all the way to work without the use of my rear-view mirror just to see how the mount would hold up and it is ROCK SOLID. No vibration, no bouncing or anything. I do recommend this product..... just not if you have a 2024 Outback. The mount is made very well, it is very easy to install. And the minor depth issue can't really be blamed on either the car or the mount... they just don't work together as it is intended to be installed. I have not given up yet though, I am going to see if it is possible to mount the bracket securely to the 'down' arm of the mirror. Who knows. ***UPDATE*** The mount is working perfectly mounted to the down arm of the rear view mirror! It took a little bit of stubbornness to make it work where I wanted it... but I had a feeling it would fit and it did! It looks amazing with the radar detector just below the mirror and it is completely solid. I really like how tightening and loosening both ball joints is done by one easy to use handle. I wish I bought this a long time ago.

Update: just to confirm if you remove the screws to swap the radar mount connection the screws will vibrate out. I'm not sure if they can be tightened down and better but I did take the advice that was suggested in another post and I added some gorilla glue to the threads and screwed them back in. I felt like Threadlicker Blue may not be fully necessary but if this doesn't work, that's the next step. As of now, I have no reason to unscrew the connector. Update: added pictures of my finished mount with my R4. It's really an easy install, took me 20min just cause I was fiddling with the clip. Be aware that this mount is like a 1/4 of a millimeter smaller in thickness. That means you may notice your radar vibrating. I'm in a big old school Tahoe so it was crazy shaking. I added a SMALL piece of electrical tape to the clip and pushed it in, no more vibrating! Looks good!🔥 I decided to get an R4s because the R7 is not compatible with Bluetooth and range is better on the R4, just no arrow. I did not get the R4w because the price I got on the R4 was $110 cheaper than the R4w and the only difference is I have to update the software on the computer, that's only a 5 minute inconvenience thats not happening that frequently. I have a Uniden R8 and this fits super snug!!!! At first I thought the clip didn't fit as it DID NOT click into the radar. I gave it a nice push and clicked right into place, absolutely no wiggle. I bought this to test the fit as I was intending to buy a Blendmount since I already had one. However I need 2 mount for new vehicles and I definitely didn't want to buy 2 Blendmounts for $125 each ($250). Now that I know this mount will fit. I can confidently add the R4 and R7 to upgrade my vehicles. I've been using the Beltronics RX65 for 12 years and they have performed very well but it's time to upgrade and the R8 has me absolutely spoiled with the directional arrows, but the R7 software update now makes it a hand second place unit. I also like that the knob is twist to tighten and allows for multiple positioning angles. Great mirror mount to finish my installs up!

It works well for the Uniden R8. It comes with some accessories together with longer screws. I used the long ones since the mirror is wider than other back mirrors. The slider is long enough to reach the radar releaser, but its not like the OEM that fits perfect. It has a little play on it, but it will work. It doesn't wiggle, and holds the radar pretty good compared to the suction cup the radar comes. The suction cup lost its properties and it falls down all the time. This is a better replacement, even if your suction cup still works, I recommend getting it since it doesn't mess with your windshield.

I didn’t want to spend $120 on a Blendmount and found this mount and decided to try it. Pros: For the price this is a good deal. The mount holds my Uniden R3 securely on the mirror for my Mustang. The mount that actually attaches to the mirror is pretty slim so you will probably be able to make it work with your car. Also, there are longer hex screws included in case the shaft of your mirror is really large. Cons) For my R3, there is a lot of play between the detector and the metal plate that slips into it from the mount. The metal should be a little thicker ideally. The latch is fully engaged, so it’s not going anywhere, but it vibrates a lot when driving. I would suggest doing what I did which was wrapping some scotch tape around the metal plate (not covering the hole) a few times to make up the gap. This seems to have worked well. Also, there is an allen wrench included but not for the screws you need to tighten down to secure the mount to the mirror. I think it ended up being like a 6/64” wrench or something like that. Overall, this seems like a decent product and the issues are easy to fix. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a cheaper option than a Blendmount. The adjustability isn’t the greatest but is good enough.

First off this DOES fit the Uniden R8W. This mount is very sturdy. Save money and get this one over the more expensive $125 radar mounts version. I recommend getting some soft felt, fabric or the loop part of velcro and line it up with the clamp that goes around the arm of the rear view mirror. The multiple positions available definitely help out. You can make it have a low profile and visibility is not obscured. The value and quality is great and it looks good. Also, this is compatible with 2015 Lexus RCF.

I am remaking this review after trying to use it. DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A UNIDEN R8. The metal piece that slides into the radar is too big and arrived in half, though, it does come with a smaller one (WHICH WILL DAMAGE YOUR SLOT, DOES NOT SLIDE IN SMOOTHLY AND MUST BE JAMMED INSIDE) but doesn't matter because they had the hulk screw these tiny screws into it and i cannot change the plate. I’ve been trying for who knows how long and the screw driver they provided with snapped and pierced my hand. I don't understand why they didn't just send it with both plates and you can choose which one you wanted on. I didn't want to leave a 1 star review but i can't stress it enough, just buy the original suction cup. DO NOT BUY THIS!

First time using this one I have one in my ranger. That's a little different. But design concept is very similar. This one is way more user, friendly and way more adjustable and way more secure.So so far so good

Product description says this isn't for the R7 or R8 but it mounts just fine. I tried another version(same seller) that has a bent angled(>) bracket/plate that mounts to the R8 and the R8 bounced & vibrated like crazy. This one is SOLID with very little vibration. The unit comes with a long and a short mounting plate(which slips into the R8) so I changed it to the short plate which keeps vibrations to a minimum. I recommend it highly! With the exception of the rear view mirror stem not being long enough or diameter too large, I wouldn't give too much credence to the negative reviews. A lot of people's mechanical abilities are just limited ... it's not that hard to install at all. The first time I mounted my R8, it didn't want to slide into the lock so I tipped the plate down just a little bit as it went in to the R8 and then it clicked right into place. Now every time when I mount it, it just slides right in(it is a snug fit) but you want it that way so it isn't vibrating or rattling. Note: The version with the bent angled bracket is intended to keep the laser lens accessible. With this mount the chances of getting lasered from the drivers side are minimal anyways.

So far so good. Super easy to install - came with wrenches and a screwdriver. I bought it for my R8. Yes, the plate that connects to the R8 is a tight fit, but I don’t mind as it makes a more rigid fit. It came with some extra o-rings which appear to be replacements for the ones installed… nice touch…. I also used some loc-tight on the small screws for added security.

Absolutely horrible Item, consider getting something else. not practical at all.
