There was a big hole in it, but none of the product inside was damaged. The Amazon box was perfect. So the damage had to have occurred before it was shipped. I don't care about a box. It isn't an issue. It's light weight, easy to open if your careful. If you try to rip the lid off you might have an issue, because the lid indents into each food compartment. You have to be gentle and loosen around the rim before removing. I think the lid quality is nice and sturdy. The size overall is the perfect size for a lunch box. Not too big, not too small. Easy to use, and worth every cent. Great price. I haven't done any leak testing. There are plenty of people in the reviews who let us know it's not leak proof. However, I have no intension of putting liquid in it. If I do it would be a thicker substance like yogurt or cottage cheese. It fits nicely in my lunch bag, which as an adult, I don't plan on tossing everywhere. So leakage is not a concern of mine.
