    Rough Cut and Perfect for it.

This is a fascinating and gripping documentary about a tough New York correctional facility. The concert forms a major part of the documentary but it's intercut with numerous short interviews with various characters both inmates and workers. The film makers and performers are so clearly outsiders and visitors to a difficult and tense place. The film makers welcomed, or tolerated cautiously by inmates who have no trust of eachother let alone their guests. The camera techniques and quality of film, which is rough and ready in the poorly lit setting, often at difficult angles and in ad hoc interviews, makes the footage even more natural and enthralling.Watch through this window into Sing Sing Prison from 1972 and you won't be able to take your eyes of it.
