It worked for about 5 months, it stopped and I assumed the batteries needed changing - however despite trying 2 sets of batteries the alarm element doesn't work any more.I've contacted Target twice now via their website / email address and have not received any response despite them proclaiming a 5 year warranty cover.********UPDATE************Having managed to speak to someone by telephone, I have received a replacement so I have adjusted my rating accordingly from 1 to 3 stars for the time being. Don't use their website form to contact them!I will adjust this review further depending on how the new lock works over the coming months. ### ⭐⭐⭐ When I returned the receptionist said "your bike has been making a funny squeaking noise" *by A***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 1, 2015* Sturdy-looking lock. Alarm a bit of a gimmick. Left mine locked up and activated outside a swimming pool. It rained and triggered the alarm. When I returned the receptionist said "your bike has been making a funny squeaking noise". That was the alarm. So not a huge deterrent, but at least someone noticed. The lock seems okay, but I imagine a hammer would have it cracked in a couple of blows (see youtube for similar). Therefore, I use as an extra, not as the main (for which I use a chunky U-lock). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ better to not arm the alarm *by K***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 12, 2015* The alarm is very sensitive and loud. Big, chunky and secure looking lock. I've had bikes stolen in the past (didn't even realise until a few days after) but I think this will help to prevent any more going missing.Two modes on the lock, armed and not armed.
