Now a series on Apple TV+. “An epic feat of imagination.” ―Justin Cronin, New York Times bestselling author of The Passage . Wool as you’ve never read it before: the New York Times bestselling novel now told in graphic novel format, featuring full-color illustrations by Hugo Award–nominated artist Jimmy Broxton, and as adapted by fan-favorite writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray. This contemporary dystopian classic is the story of mankind clawing for survival, of mankind on the edge. The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they profess to want: they are allowed outside. This collection includes over 20 pages of bonus material: Jimmy Broxton’s sketchbook, variant covers by Darwyn Cooke, and more! Review: Gripping - Good graphic novel Review: Brilliant first instalment. - The 'Wool' trilogy is one of the best trilogies I have read in recent years, the story is well written and I loved all the characters, the imagery was excellent, you saw yourself in the silo, so I was very pleased to hear that there was going to a graphic novel of the series. 'Wool' is the first book in the series and it sets up the story of the silo where people live, work and die within, never experiencing outside because it has been ravaged by war and cannot sustain life, their only viewpoint is a screen which shows outside, the only way you can get outside is by committing a crime. 'Wool' introduces you to various characters as they find out the truth of the silo and what the future may hold. I enjoyed the graphic novel, the illustrations were vivid and drew you into the story which I enjoyed. I am looking forward to the next part which is called 'Shift'.

Totally changed my view of the silos
So if you are a regular reader you will know that I love the WOOL series and all the books that it has given birth too, you will also realise that when I saw this graphic serialisation there was no hesitation in clicking the send to Kindle option. First of all if you haven't read any of the WOOL books stop now and go here to my back catalogue of reviews and features on the WOOLiverse as even though the graphic novel will be an enjoyable read for you I highly recommend actually reading the original novel so you get a better understanding of what is going on. WOOL as you know is set mostly underground in the Silo's and when I started reading the books I got images in my mind as to what I thought the inside of these massive structures looked like so to actually see the story in graphic form came as a total shock to my system, a good shock! Now I have only ever really read one graphic novel before which was the first Walking Dead issue so I am by no means a veteran of reading these but in graphic form WOOL looks amazing, the illustrations are all in beautifully subdued hues, reds, purples, blues it just looks incredible but the one thing that totally threw me was the design of the silo. The stairs to start with spiral down the centre of the building where as I had always pictured them running around the sides. The actual floor heights are massive about twice the size I had imagined, areas such as the cafeteria and the gardens are just vast, one scene where you see the mayor walking through the gardens just gives you an amazing perspective on how big the actually are, they are almost cathedral like with the pillars of plants in rows up each side. The actual shape of the silo too was nothing like I imagined, I pictured it straight up and down like a massive pipe almost but it flairs out at the bottom, my mind is totally blown. Everything is bigger, I really feel I need to go back and read the story again with these new images in my mind to appreciate it from a new perspective, yes the graphic version is a more condensed version of the story but a picture tells a thousand words and from just looking at Juliette's eyes or the panic on Bernard's face you get an pretty good idea of whats going on. I don't know if Shift and Dust will be getting the graphic treatment but I hope they do as WOOL the graphic novel has really enhanced my enjoyment of this already spectacular series. If you have read it, I'd love to hear if it has changed your idea of what the silos look like, it certainly changed mine! Too big a story for such a short novel.
Having heard so much about the Wool trilogy and being a big fan over graphic novels I decided to give this distopian thriller a go. Unfortunately, it would seem, that this story has not translated particularly well. While the story is good and, in fairness, becomes more compelling as the book goes on, it often turns into something of a mess. It seems like complete panels are missing and I often found myself flicking back and forth to try and piece together the events. Juliette is a likeable character, but again the story seems to move so quickly that there is no time for character development or proper exploration of their relationships. However, as I said I did enjoy the story, albeit a little tired, and the artwork is decent, although the alternative covers at the back are by far the best artwork in the book.

Great comic!
Love it! Great illustrations and what a plot! Main character is person 'with balls'. Bad guy also nicely created. Sooo possible! Sooo apocalyptic! Just great read.

A fantastic world!
A muder mystery set in a dystopian future, were society is secluded to the Silo. This is a brilliant world and the story really sucks you in. Beautifully crafted images make the world come alive. Utilising pallets of reds and blues on selected panels and pages made certain places within the silo feel open or claustrophobic. Personally I was unsure about the story to begin with but as the mystery unravelled I couldn't put it down.

Fantastic graphic novel
I've read the series, listened to it via audiobook and now I've done the comic. Wool and it's world have so much to offer. A must read series!

Now you can see the silo
I loved the Hugh's book, and now some years later I entered the silo with my own eyes. Thanks, it is a good story.

読み応えあるSFに出会った!
久々にハードコアな骨太SFに出会いました。 設定も世界観もいいです。 TVでドラマを見てから原作に、そしてこのグラフィックノベルに辿り着きました。

Fun read
I really enjoyed the show Silo, and was so excited to know they made a graphic novel. The story is so fast paced in this book though, kinda sad about that, wished it was longer. But at the same time, I'm half way through and already past the tv show. I don't love the art in the book, so many characters are just a shadow and sometimes I find it hard to tell some people apart. Really enjoying the read though, and am happy to have the graphic novel of this book.

An amazing comic ebook that has opened my eyes
I love this format, zooming into panels and making reading comic books more than it's ever been. I breezed thru this amazing omnibus and now I'm wanting more. This particular form of the "silo saga" is interesting and I think leans a bit on having either read the books or watched the Apple TV show. There are spots in the graphic novel that made me recall the story bits between those points, things that let you feel the claustrophobic atmosphere of the silo. All in all well worth it. Enjoyed it immensely.

Stunning art
This is the first graphic novel I read on a digital device and what a treat it has been. Stunning art, beautifully presented. Liked the concept of the story too and it's conclusion
