I also have the Normcore 1.7mm puck screen. It takes more work to properly clean that one. Both work fine. The grouphead does not get any coffee in it anymore. A simple rinse gets the 0.8mm like new clean. Bottomless portafilter shots are consistently perfect. The WDT tool is most responsible for that, though.

This has perhaps the perfect thickness for clean espresso shots. I also have the Normcore 1.7mm puck screen. It takes more work to properly clean that one. Both work fine.
