(10 FT if you are 6 FT tall) OR use this as a guide and do your own math. **Q: Dose the tool tray also fold down when fold the ladder?** A: yes, it dose fold down. **Q: What is the vertical distance between steps?** A: Vertical rise between steps is just under 8”; handles are yet again another useful feature for stability in ascending & descending. **Q: So in the title it says 5 step ladder holds 330 lbs but in the product information, it says load capacity 500 lbs. Which is it?!** A: I don't know that but it's very sturdy. My husband is 250# and at the top step he was able to touch our 11 foot ceiling without any wobble or concerns. Perhaps it means total weight of a 330 # person plus tools or paint that he's working with? You would need to carry up a fan or light you want to install but not if you are an exceptionally large or heavy person. Hope that helps. It was easy to setup out of the box. However, one of the handle grips was ripped, as shown in photo, perhaps due to excessive use of sellotape wrapping.
