Some tips... *by A***T on 3 May 2019* Overall this mandoline is great and after reading the reviews for many other manual and electric gadgets to chop vegetables I think this is the only one that does what I need in a proper way: chopping in cubes or sticks without mashing. Other mandolines will not chop in cubes.It is pretty big and sturdy and the blades are very sharp, so be careful when handling it because it is easy to put your hand where you shoudln't if you are paying attention to something else.I find this is especially useful if you have many vegetables to chop. If you are going to chop one or two and you have average chopping skills then use your knife and chopping board.It is important to note that you will still need to cut the vegetables in smaller chunks to fit them in the mandoline. So there is no zero effort with this, but it's pretty easy to cut each vegetable roughly in a few pieces.The function to make cubes or rhomboids is not obvious. You need to put your vegetable chunks inside the sliding handle and start with the sliding handle at the bottom of the unit, as if you had just finished one cut, then you slide ittowards the top and the vertical blades will make a cut in that direction. Then you turn the handle 90 degrees and slide it down, so that the vertical blades make a new cut at 90 degrees (these will be your cubes) and the bottom blade will make the final slicing cut and dettach these cubes from the vegetable. It is pretty easy and fast once you get the hang of it.It is also easy to wash with the brush included. Don't let the remains to dry out in the mandoline and wash it under the tap after finishing.For the price this is an excellent purchase if you slice a lot of vegetables. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Multifunctional slicer *by K***A on 2 June 2018* I chose this mandolin slicer as I wanted one that has various features, and this has just that. There are 2 dials, one which controls the thickness of the slice, and another for cross-sectional cuts so you can make julienne or batonnet cuts. It also has a dicing feature which is very handy and not something found in all mandolins. The blades are sharp which is great as it allows you to cut with ease, but this does mean you have to take extra care handling and ensure you use the guard to protect your fingers. This tool has definitely made things quicker in the kitchen for me.I've used it several times and am pleased with the product. The biggest downside I've found is that with some vegetables, particularly long ones, it's tricky to get it to stay in the guard as the top of the guard just wants to spring back up. I have to end up using just the bottom half of the guard until the vegetable is shorter as the top part won't stay, which is annoying but it is still usable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ CUTS LIKE A PRO *by J***E on 17 March 2018* The media could not be loaded. DIY~ homemade fresh perfectly cut and same size crisps (0.5 cm to a cm thickness depends on preference) led us to buy a slicer which really didn't disappointed us as its blades are really sharp.It comes with a very detailed manual. The knobs on one side are used to adjust the cuts of your vegetables or fruits. Easy to assemble; easy to clean too. Very safe to use as there's a holder for your veggies and fruits, also a cover downside that protects the triangular blades that comes up when one of the knobs is pulled and turned. Non - slip feet and foldable handle keeps it standing steady though the curve parts of the slicer itself enables one to just fit it in a bowl while cutting, dicing, cubing or shredding. Got no worries to uneven cuts of veggies and fruits. Evenly cut ingredients is appealing to the eyes. Saves my time in food preparations. Love the colour too!
