This unit crushes and presses, allowing the juice to drain into a cup. As far as getting the last drop of juice, the centrifugal was a little more efficient, but for the extra teaspoon, I would take this one. We bought this unit strictly for celery. The instructions advise cutting everything up in 1-2 inch pieces. That maybe necessary for harder vegetables, but for celery it works just fine to feed one stalk right after another without straining the motor. The auger pulls them in at its own rate without needing much help from the pusher and we haven't had any stalling. There are only three main parts, plus the cups for cleaning. The auger housing can be rotated and removed by pressing a button. The auger assembly slides apart easily and a brush is provided for a warm water rinse and cleaning.
