I use chalkboard markers and they will not come off after completely drying. I use the same markers on another chalkboard and they wipe off just fine. This board required a magic eraser and lists of scrubbing. It ended up taking off the whole top layer of the surface and now the markers come off slightly easier (but still a BIG pain).The markers are meant for “nonporous” surfaces which I thought this board fit the requirement. Apparently not. May be user error, may be the board - just a review of CAUTION. ### ⭐ A plastic chalkboard? *by Y***D on Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2018* Would not recommend. The chalkboard is made out of plastic. Doesn’t even function like a chalkboard and smears when it’s attempted to be erased, and writing on it well—it’s like writing on plastic—no other way to describe it. The writing area is not the same as the dimensions, which takes away from it. There are 3 hangars on the back wich have to ensure are aligned perfectly when hanging—a hassle in itself. Although it looks nice my one star rating is based on the functionalty not aesthetics. I was concerned that since it was in the store window for a month with chalk wording and designs on it, that the sun may bake the chalk on and it would be difficult to clean up.
