Review: Beautiful and accurate - We love Jerry Pinkney books, his work is just amazingly beautiful. My 1 year old is really entranced, as am I. I was delighted to see he had illustrated a biblical story, and also delighted at how true it stayed to the original. So many children's renditions kid-ify the story, and dumb it down, or nice it up, or make weird changes, or leave out the destruction. Jerry tells the story very directly and tastefully. Sure, he adds some little details, like picturing Noah holding a basket when God speaks to him, or one of his children being in charge of picking olives, but I don't feel that disrupts the story, personally.

This delightful book was beautifully written and illustrated. The realistic pictures captivate and charm children and keep their attention while the story intrigues them. It is a great story to use for Bible School or Sunday School classes. It would also be great to have at home.

We love Jerry Pinkney books, his work is just amazingly beautiful. My 1 year old is really entranced, as am I. I was delighted to see he had illustrated a biblical story, and also delighted at how true it stayed to the original.
