This is "good fat" cod oil, you want to eat it/drink it/add it to egg salad, or something (don't cook it.). You are getting one of the best cod liver and cod liver oil mixes and it should be eaten. **Q: At what temperature are these cans cooked at by the packing company and for how long ? This is not raw fish liver.** A: I'm not sure about the cooking temperature or how long, but I know it's ready to eat right out of the can. I actually found out about this brand after watching a video from Dr. Berg, so I knew it was going to be high quality. I've enjoyed several cans of these and the flavor and texture are always consistent. It tastes way better than I thought it would and have ordered it twice and will be ordering more when I run out of my last order. It is a little pricey, but worth it and a great way to get vitamins A and D. It's actually cheaper if you buy it by the 12 pack, too. **Q: Could you make a pate with these similar to chicken liver pate to serve with crackers? Looking for ways to eat besides plain.** A: I don't see why not...that would be great! The texture is very soft and spreadable as it is liver. My husband and I ate it with organic crackers and a little tabasco sauce. It taste like eating a delicacy to us!
