The main thing I was looking for was a fitted sheet that would fit comfortably and securely over my 18" mattress. I would rate the TAUPE set 3 stars because it seemed lighter than 1000 count and although it fit over the mattress, the edge just reached the bottom of the mattress - it did not extend under it. To be fair, it did seem to stay on the mattress just fine so the sheets are definitely usable. I would rate the WHITE set 5 stars because they were definitely 1000 count, went on easily, and extended a good two inches underneath my 18" mattress.
